Position Description

As the SMB Operations Manager, you will be a critical member of Revenue Operations, responsible for partnering with your key stakeholders, understanding their needs to increase productivity and driving programmatic solutions to help the team drive efficiencies.

This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the United States. Due to the remote nature of this role, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.

Responsibilities:

In this highly cross-functional role, the SMB Operations Manager will partner closely to develop robust, trusting relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership, and identify opportunities to improve and ensure KPIs and quotas are met. You will drive efficiencies across the channel by uncovering opportunities, prioritizing requirements, leveraging data to validate opportunity gains and project managing initiatives to a successful close. You will provide critical feedback on all areas of improvement; individual and team level for sales efficiency, performance, and funnel rate improvement. You will monitor and manage account transfers and referral assignments as well as manage and help prioritize reporting and data requests.

In the first week, expect to:

  • Onboard and integrate into Toptal
  • Work with the Sales Operations and Enablement team to begin understanding Toptal’s onboarding processes

In the first month, expect to:

  • Learn the true value of Toptal services by completing onboarding training, shadowing calls and meeting with key stakeholders
  • Explore Toptal’s tools and resources to understand how they are currently used
  • Meet with your key stakeholders to understand business processes and future needs

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Handle all requests from your key business stakeholders
  • Begin to identify areas for improvement

In the first six months, expect to:

  • Reflect on your observations, identifying where there are additional areas for improvement and where we can increase efficiency for Revenue team members.
  • Enhance existing processes, while implementing new ideas and initiatives.
  • Own communication cross-functionally

In the first year, expect to:

  • Continue to strategize and implement new scalable improvements, matching Toptal’s rapid growth
  • Be viewed as a Toptal Ambassador and subject matter expert

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of sales/revenue operations experience
  • Experience with complex operational, process, and performance improvement projects including process mapping and process re-design
  • Strong process background with an ability to understand workflow and throughput in the operation
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and synthesize multiple points of view into a streamlined action plan
  • Knowledge of advanced SQL queries preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Salesloft experience preferred

  • You don’t take yourself too seriously; you have a sense of humor and are comfortable with sarcasm. This position does sit on our Sales teams, after all.

As a Regional Vice President at Gartner, Ashlee led multiple account management teams in the high-tech vendor division. She brings experience scaling teams in a rapid growth environment while working with emerging and midsize customers. Ashlee has a degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Miami.

As Toptal's Chief Revenue Officer, Sean is responsible for strategy, sales, and client success. He works closely with the executive team to ensure their growing client portfolio has access to the best talent in the world. Before joining Toptal, Sean spent ten years at Cognizant, where he played various roles, including President of their new Accelerator business division and COO of their Digital Business transformation service line. Sean earned a BS in Computer Science from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
