About the Event

Ever wonder how Facebook’s facial recognition or Snapchat’s filters work? Join Gabriel Bianconi, a Toptal machine learning expert, as he explores the tech and tactics behind the computer vision tools we use every day.

PyTennessee 2019 brings together many of the top minds in AI and machine learning from throughout the United States and beyond. February 9-10, join the event for four tracks of talks covering all skill levels and subject areas, plus a game night and a young coders program.

Gabriel’s talk will take place Saturday at 10:15am. In it, he’ll explain why building applications around faces and photography has never been easier. Gabriel will demonstrate some computer vision and machine learning techniques using open-source libraries and pre-trained models. Then, you’ll use this knowledge to develop prototypes to tackle tasks such as face detection (e.g. digital cameras), recognition (e.g. Facebook Photos), classification (e.g. identifying emotions), manipulation (e.g. Snapchat filters), and more.
