About the Event

Please join us for our last event in this month’s Functional Programming series on on Thursday, September 24 at 11:30 AM CST.

In functional programming we speak of pure and impure functions, often of types, streams and similar concepts. We feel a certain elegance, efficiency, and some deep structure behind it. Usually, this discussion then quickly goes to type theory and categories. This is a fruitful, but highly abstract direction.

In this talks, Siniša Miličić will talk about the evolution of the concept of the function and its role in the concept of computation, from Euler to Church to Lisp to types, with a detour for some carpets and some unruly agents.

If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP and save our event series calendar so you don’t miss a session!

This event is part of Toptal’s Functional Programming series. No matter how deep you want to dive into Functional Programming, we have talks for all levels of knowledge and expertise. These events will be online and are led by members of the Toptal community.
