About the Event

Have you noticed that the name “Gini” pops up in various applications of machine learning and other areas of statistics? Let’s look into this in more detail! Toptal is pleased to present a 1 hour presentation and Q&A on: Using the Gini coefficient to assess credit-scoring models, which will take place on Zoom on 9/13/2021 at 11:00 AM EST.

Join us as Hershel Safer, a quantitative modeler with 40 years of experience working in multiple application areas, explains the Gini coefficients for measuring income inequality and building decision trees, and then goes into detail about the Gini coefficient for assessing models of credit risk.

Hershel develops and implements quantitative models using advanced mathematical and statistical software, with a focus on machine learning and mathematical optimization. He has extensive experience in various industries, including finance, biopharma, and communications. Hershel has a Ph.D. from MIT in operations research and an undergraduate degree from Yale in applied mathematics and economics.

This talk welcomes all developers from diverse backgrounds and skill-sets, interested in getting together to share knowledge and experience. The event Q&A will be moderated by Community Leader Paul Grigoruta.
