Toptaler Amateur Photo Contest

We are delighted to announce the Toptaler Amateur Photo Contest! While August is widely recognized as a summer month across the globe, some Toptalers have the unique opportunity to witness winter during this period.

Come and participate in the Toptaler Amateur Photo Contest, where you can share your mesmerizing photographs and inspiring stories with the Toptal community. By doing so, you stand a chance to win exciting TopGear prizes!

How to participate? There are two ways to engage in this contest:

1. Submit a photo in the #photography Slack channel showcasing your usual activities in August and a short 2-3 sentence story finishing the sentence: “My usual August in [your country] as a Toptaler means …”. Whether it’s sunbathing on the beach, jogging in the rain or hiking with your family. Deadline: August 24, 2023.
2. Support participants by reacting and/or commenting on the submitted photos and stories till 30th of August in the #photography Slack channel and cheer for your favorites.

What are the rules?

• Submit a maximum of 3 entries (photo + story) in total but only the first one will be eligible for competition.
• Photo needs to have a Toptal reference e.g. logo, emblem. It can be printed or shown on your mobile. Be creative!
• Keep it simple. No touch-ups. No photo filters. No advanced tools or software used. Just the basics. Take a photo with your phone and upload to Slack.
• You can use a photo you already have as long as it’s not touched up or edited and has a Toptal logo in it. Though we strongly encourage you to take a new one.
• Our organizing committee will shortlist the most reacted and commented entries and will share them for voting on August 25, 2023.

What is the timeline?

Mark your calendars! The competition will remain open for entries until Thursday, August 24th, followed by the voting from 25th to 30th of August. The winners will be announced in the #photography channel on 31st of August.
