Toptal NextGen Sessions 2024

We’re excited to invite you to Toptal NextGen Sessions - a unique voluntary-based opportunity to mentor and inspire the next generation of tech leaders.

This is a one-time, 90-minute virtual event where Toptal talent will coach students and young professionals in partnership with Re:Coded, a global NGO helping displaced and underserved talent.

This is your chance to share your expertise, career advice, and freelance tips with small groups of students (3 per session) eager to learn from your journey. Not only will you be helping shape future tech freelancers, but you’ll also have the opportunity to improve your mentorship skills.

Agenda

• Welcome - 5 mins
• Learning Session: How to Make the Most of Mentorship - 5-10 mins - led by Toptal. In this brief session, Toptal will guide students on how to be a great mentee so you can make the most of your speed mentoring sessions today.
• Speed mentoring - 60 mins - coaching/mentorship sessions between talent and students/youth. There will be 3 rounds of 20-minute speed mentoring sessions. Re:Coded participants (mentees) will be staying at the same table for the whole hour. Toptal mentors will rotate tables every 20 minutes so they get the opportunity to learn from multiple industry experts!
• Learning Session: Personal Branding Session - 5-10 mins - led by Toptal. To finish the event, Toptal will leave the students with a brief and informative session about personal branding. We’ll walk through tips and best practices to ensure students are putting their best foot forward as they navigate their careers.
• Closing 5 mins
