The public sector is a crucial part of every society and every economy. It is represented by various public sector organizations that are run by a government and aimed to provide multiple services for people of a country. Those services cannot be provided by private entrepreneurs as they seek for the good of society, not for the benefit of just one person. Depending on what is the public sector for each system, it may include education, health care, public transportation, all types of social infrastructure, police and military, etc. Though it is not a business model and mainly funded by taxation, the public sector is a huge part of the economy in each country and one of the leading employers for all types of officials, doctors, teachers and other workers. As they are a part of a massive system, government, public sector organizations are usually one of the latest adopters of technology. However, nowadays it is vital to go online and be mobile for any organization because the Internet drives our world as never before. According to different analytics, the upcoming year 2017 will be a historical benchmark. First of all, users will generate more traffic than during all previous years of existence of the Internet in total. Secondly, mobile devices will generate around 68% of all Internet traffic. So one can’t deny a need of being presented online.

And one of the best ways to do that is to create an own native mobile app. A native mobile app is an app designed and coded for a specific device in a particular programming language. They characterized by a user-friendly interface, ability to work offline and to access different functionality of a gadget, like a camera, microphone, contacts, etc. They send you push notifications on every important piece of information or message. The more people on the Earth are using mobile gadgets, the more public sector will have to adopt it to communicate, provide services, claim funds or documents. So this leads us to another point.


Mobile apps can sufficiently reduce administrative expenses by replacing manual tasks and tons of paperwork by digitalizing it. When it comes to simple systematic work, algorithms are better than people, let’s face it. So a lot of budget money can be saved just by standardization and automation of lifecycle of public sector organizations, and delivering these services in a user-friendly mobile app. That saves work hours of both clerks and citizens, simplifies payment processes and reduce costs for physical maintaining of offices and people responsible for such operations.


Mobile apps allow to collect all data from users, read citizens, in an automated way into a simple system and reliable storage. Forget about dusty archives and hours waiting for needed report or statistics; now they can be retrieved very easily from any place in the world. So negligence which often causes chaos are much lower in comparison with a workflow run by humans.


People like simplicity. The more simple and clear a procedure or a rule are, the more chances that people will do it at all. Users will appreciate standardized and automated processes with intuitive, consumer-like experience for sure. People are used to shopping and playing games online, so why not to prolong this experience into way public sector face citizens and provides them services? Introduce rules and requirements of the public sector by an already accustomed way, and people will take it for granted.

So to survive and be efficient, government and public sector organizations have to adopt mobile technologies that people are already using, and the best way to do that is through communicating with citizens by native mobile apps.
