C# (pronounced C sharp) is a modern object-oriented programming language designed by Anders Hejlsberg and a team of Microsoft developers at the turn of the millenium around the Common Language Infrastructure. Critics have stated that C# was just an imitation of Java, even calling C# a boring repetition that lacks innovation, but despite this criticism, C# is used by millions of developers all over the world. C# is a multi-paradigm programming language encompassing strong typing, as well as imperative, declarative, functional, generic, object-oriented (class-based), and component-oriented programming disciplines. C# can be used to build any type of application, whether it’s a service, console, desktop, web, or even smartphone application. Each application type requires a specific set of skills on top of standard C# syntax. A C# developer handles many aspects of developing an application, including performance, scalability, security, testing, and more. C# developers can develop modern applications that run on desktop computers, or even sophisticated back-end processes powering modern web applications. The frameworks .Net and Mono combined allow a wide range of platforms to be targeted by applications developed with C#.

The Freelance Calculator empowers you to see how much you could earn as a freelancer, including what your hourly rate would need to be to match your current or desired salary based on the number of hours you work per week.
Calculations of weekly, monthly, and yearly salaries are determined by a one week unit of measure: hours per week multiplied by hourly rate. By default, values are 40 hours per week and the 25th percentile hourly rate. Monthly salaries are calculated as the summation of 4 weekly salaries, and yearly salaries are calculated as the summation of 52 weekly salaries.
