About the event

At Toptal, we strongly believe in using the power of technology to change the world for the better, which is why we are proud to sponsor and support Empower Hack for Refugee Women & Girls. The migration of refugees fleeing civil war in Syria and the surrounding countries has been one of the defining, and most complicated, stories of the year. An estimated 9 million Syrians have been displaced since the outbreak of the conflict. Responding humanely and effectively to the current refugee crisis is one of the major problems that our generation is facing, and as a tech community, we want to do whatever we can to make a difference.

Empower Hack will bring together designers, developers and NGOs for a hackathon on November 28 - 29 to work on tech solutions that address the challenges faced by refugee women and girls. Empower Hack is a great example of how the tech industry can rally together for a common cause, and we hope to see you there.
