Project History

LoopNet Content Experience

Led product to deliver new content experience on LoopNet.com, the leading commercial real estate marketplace. Successfully launched in June 2019 with 300+ articles published in less than six months, increasing organic visits to site by over 20%.

The goal of this project was to deliver a new content experience on LoopNet.com to drive deeper customer engagement with resources to educate and inspire about diverse commercial real estate topics, from how-to-find space to innovative new office design to complex tax and legal advice. I was tasked with defining the new product and design strategy and leading the design and development teams to implement this vision. In tandem, I was responsible for recruiting a team of editors, writers, and over 60 subject-matter experts to support this new experience. On the back end, we successfully integrated a new content-management system (BrightSpot) as part of the system architecture.
Team: Led a team of six developers (front end, back end, QA) and three editors.
Technology: Built on .NET platform, supported with BrightSpot CMS.

Experience Travel by USA Today Travel

https://www.usatoday.com/travel/experience/

Led development of USA Today Travel's "Experience Travel" portfolio, a series of immersive websites focused on various travel markets including cruises, beach vacations, weekend getaways, and more. Delivered over $2 million in advertising revenue.

Experience Travel is a collection of expert travel planning tools, video, photos, and “best-of” recommendations around top travel destinations and themes. From planning and booking to experience and sharing, Experience Travel helps travelers make the most of their trip by giving them the exact information they need, personalized to fit their lifestyle.
Team: Led development team of up to ten developers and designers to deliver on initial product launch and post-launch support and enhancements.
Technology: Built on Python framework supported by Gannett Digital's proprietary CMS.

SEO Content Automation

Led project to generate SEO content on 50,000+ landing pages utilizing machine-generated language; resulted in +20% YoY organic search and keyword growth.

To improve SEO performance, the real estate marketplaces within the Land.com network required a solution to feature unique, high-quality content on over 50,000 search landing pages. I led a small team to develop an innovative solution combining large sets of property and location data with natural-language generated text automation. This provided ever-changing unique content throughout the network that resulted in significant SEO gains at a fraction of the cost.
Team: Led a team of two developers to create and integrate the project into the framework.
Technology: Supported with Automated Insights' Wordsmith platform and SQL database queries.
