Optimized Content Production & Management
Drove the transformation and strategic development of the digital content experience for the higher education digital courseware portfolio, serving over 10,000,000 students annually.
Over many years our organization had created a number of siloed content production tools and systems. Processes were duplicated, inefficiencies were common, and re-use was difficult. I led a team that was responsible for product management of the authoring and production capabilities, including roadmap prioritization, digital strategy, scalability, and implementation planning. Through our new toolset, we managed the transformation of 1,200 multi-disciplinary products to the future state workflow. This ensured all content adhered to new accessibility, mobile, diversity and inclusion, and security standards. Additionally, we were able to introduce significant savings to the organization both through optimized content infrastructure and a new offshore training and certification program for vendors.
Revel: Immersive Digital Learning Product
Led the development of a digital learning product designed to replace the traditional textbook in higher education.
College professors frequently complained that their students weren't reading. This was a big problem in the social sciences and humanities where the homework is 90% reading. I led a small team that created an MVP that would go on to become Revel, a product designed to help every student come to class prepared. Our MVP led to the creation of five titles that were incredibly successful in the market. We soon scaled to create over 100 titles in just 18 months. I led the product management team in creating a scalable workflow, a suite of structured authoring tools and content management, and introduced a number of new features to market within the product. As the product continued to grow and evolve, so did my role. I took on the development of the learning tools and content for the entire division and then went on to lead the development of the internal production tools required to scale across multiple channel outputs.
The Sociology Project
Signed, developed, and launched The Sociology Project, a collaboratively authored Introduction to Sociology product designed to spark students' sociological imaginations
Authored collaboratively by members of the NYU Sociology Department, Revel The Sociology Project 2.5 draws on the collective wisdom of expert faculty to reveal how individuals are shaped by the contexts in which they live and act. Organized around the big questions in every sub-field of the discipline, the text shows how sociologists analyze our world and sets students off on their own journeys of sociological inquiry. At its core, Revel The Sociology Project seeks to inspire each student’s sociological imagination, and instill in each reader a new determination to question the world around us.
