Project History

AR/VR-based STEM Applications for K-12

https://zspace.com/edu/info/zspace-experiences

Successfully led the overall production, budgeting, outsourcing and UI/UX strategy for 12 award-winning K-12 STEM experiences, in use today at thousands of schools world-wide.

zSpace Experiences are a bundle of AR/VR-based educational lessons aligned to K-12 STEM subjects. As a major part of the company's overall investment in new content, the development and delivery of these Experiences helped realize substantial double-digit Y/Y revenue growth that year. This was an ambitious project with less than 12 months to plan, build, test, market and release, and included simultaneous release to three major markets, including English, Spanish, and Chinese speakers. From start to finish, I was responsible for budgeting, selecting and managing art and engineering outsourcing, UI/UX strategy, process development, and leading cross-functionally with artists, engineers, teachers, and QA testers. I regularly worked across three timezones (US, Europe, and China) to ensure all tracks of development were running smoothly and according to vision.

VR Shopping and Social Media Browser

https://www.engadget.com/2016-01-06-zspace-created-a-virtual-reality-browser.html

Led the engineering for zSpace's VR Shopping & Social Media web browser, advancing the state of the art and attracting significant, positive press for the company.

zSpace's 3D Web Browser was a major R&D and prototyping effort that advanced the state of the art and the potential of AR/VR's marriage with web technologies. I led the engineering and co-led the UX design of the prototype. The value proposition stories showcased spanned from social media browsing and 3D model AR overlays, to online shopping and VR-enabled advertisements. The browser won significant interest and acclaim in the press, and was demo extensively by the executive leadership team during strategic opportunities.
