Project History

Rebranding Honcker Cars to Rodo

http://www.Rodo.com

Led the rebrand for Rodo, a simple car leasing experience that skips the hassle of dealership negotiations and allows you to lease a car through the comfort of your own home.

I led the consumer-facing product decisions for Rodo while being challenged to launch within 4 months from conception to delivery.
Given the tight deadline, priority decisions were key. One key decision was to focus on enhancing the existing consumer experience. The existing infrastructure did not allow users who set up an account on a mobile app to view their registration information when they signed onto the desktop version to complete their purchase. The first step to creating a seamless consumer experience was to fix this issue.
Through the rebrand, we also revisited the way users searched for their vehicles, creating new ways for consumers to filter and search for the car that met their vehicle goals.
Finally, we needed to make sure that the process of switching over from Honcker Cars to Rodo did not cause issues for existing consumers. I had the responsibility of maintaining consumer expectations, enhancing the design of the tool to better facilitate the sales, and drive teams towards the execution of our goals. I worked with internal resources and offshore resources in order to move the project forward.
The rebrand led to an increase of over 250% of average revenue per user as the experience was enhanced.

Launching the First Direct to Consumer Experience for John Hancock Life Insurance

Established the first direct to consumer platform for John Hancock insurance.

I mentored business analysts and coached them to become leading product owners and provided the vision and direction for the overall program. I worked with not only the technical architects but also marketing, risk, and legal counterparts as we tackled new territory in developing a digital overhaul of our insurance process. We took a process that used to take 3-4 weeks, and turned it into 3-5 days in order for consumers to be insured, capitalizing on an opportunity to reach an untapped market of uninsured and under-insured consumers. We revamped the idea of life insurance by partnering with Vitality, creating a product that rewards customers for being healthy. Through this strategy, we were able to grow the business to over $2 million in revenue by the end of two years with a trajectory to hit $15 million by the end of the fifth.

Jibo Commander, Remote Control the World's First Social Robot

Built a tool for consumers who have trouble speaking for themselves to communicate through Jibo.

Originally intended as a nanny cam, the Jibo Commander app allowed users to connect to Jibo and control him if they were on the same Wifi network. During development, I added a feature that allowed you to preview the motion and action that Jibo would take before you send it to Jibo to act out (e.g. a cartoon of Jibo doing a dance). With this new development, I grew extremely passionate about the possibilities it could present.
Imagine a giphy of Jibo doing a sad dance with a pre-defined message that said: "I am not feeling too happy today."
Even simpler, imagine an emoji of a cheeseburger with a pre-defined message that said: "I am hungry, I want a cheeseburger."
Allowing this type of communication opens up the doors for someone who has trouble speaking for themselves to be able to communicate through a tool - Jibo.
The potential is endless and would definitely have altered the way consumers, especially those with autism or who have trouble speaking, speak and communicate with their families.
I believe that if we targeted a niche market, with tools like the Jibo Commander app, we'd have the potential to change the world.
