Project History

Open Source Telephony Platform

Implemented an open-source telephony platform that enabled over one million calls annually while saving the firm an average of $2 million yearly based on build/rent/buy decisions.

I made this strategic decision to implement an open-source telephony platform. We had to identify the right talent and solution that understood call center architecture vs. buying or renting a solution. The risk is around people when custom development is initiated. However, this decision proved incredibly beneficial for the firm through strong leadership and a sound technology platform choice.

Development of a Mobile iOS and Android App

Managed the development of a mobile iOS and Android app while managing cost and headcount.

We strategically decided to utilize Flutter for our mobile app development to reach our end goal of having it on iOS and Android. This move accelerated our time to market while enabling a single codebase for our product and maintaining a reasonable headcount to launch our MVP.

Big Data Architecture

Implemented the economic multi-node big data architecture.

We implemented economic multi-node big data architecture by utilizing a dozen recycled workstations and an open-source solution called Hadoop. We created ingestion pipelines and worked through billions of records while establishing daily, monthly, and quarterly reports. Eventually, we were able to "virtualize" the solution, and the MVP enabled the assessment of the idea and technology.
