Project History

Physician Contract Lifecycle Application

Drove the product definition and development of a Salesforce platform custom app for tracking physician contracts. It replaced the legacy end-of-life vendor app and reduced operational costs by up to 50%, resulting in $60,000 in yearly savings.

The Physician Contract Lifecycle Salesforce app tracks all phases of approximately 2,000 physician contracts generated annually within the Kaiser Permanente Northwest region.

The goal of developing the new Salesforce platform custom solution was to replace the legacy end-of-life 10-year-old unsupported vendor application that would save the company a minimum of $60,000 in operational costs each year. My role as a product manager and owner was to gather requirements from the business stakeholders, identify and list all the limitations within the existing vendor application, find opportunities to automate manual workflows and processes, and establish seamless integrations with upstream and downstream systems.

I created detailed product requirements documentation and a data-driven product roadmap that reflected the product strategy and vision and outlined the different stages of product development within a well-established timeline. I also documented user journeys and detailed workflows apart from playing the product owner role, where I worked with the engineering team to create the product backlog, refine it, drive the sprint planning sessions, and participate in sprint reviews and retrospective sessions.

Mobile-enabling a Content Repository Web Application

Doubled the usage of a web application by driving product discovery, market research, and analysis for mobile, enabling a web application used by thousands of users. Owned the product roadmap and led a team to build and launch the application.

Worked with the engineering team to lead the effort of mobile-enabling a major web application used by thousands of internal and external KP users that resulted in doubling the application usage, increased efficiency for the end users, and cost saving of $100,000 annually for KP.

Spearheaded product discovery, conducted market research, and analyzed and synthesized data to access the opportunity. Owned the product roadmap and led a four-person development team to build and launch the mobile-enabled version of the application. With a combined role of PM, PO, and BA, collaborated with business stakeholders and IT teams, including engineering, QA, UI/UX, and release and compliance, to create the product backlog containing user stories with thorough acceptance criteria.

Provider Provisioning and Maintenance

Led a team of 10 engineers to develop a back-end application that uses microservice architecture on Azure cloud to provision physicians in the vendor platform. The solution brought KP into compliance and reduced operational and support costs by 40%.

As a senior product owner, led a 10-person agile team that consisted of six developers, one scrum master, and three QA resources to build a microservice back-end solution for provisioning KP physicians into vendor platform automatically, eliminating the need for them to handle PII data and hence bringing back KP into compliance with data security standards.

Worked closely with the product manager for detailed requirements, lead software architect for solution design, and QA lead to ensure the test scripts covered acceptance criteria. Maintained prioritized product backlog, drove the sprint planning and sprint review sessions, and prepared demos to present to 100+ stakeholders during inspect and adapt workshops at the program level.
