An eCommerce company was experiencing significant issues with its inventory management system, leading to frequent stockouts, excess inventory, and missed sales opportunities. To resolve these issues, I was tasked with improving the system by gathering requirements, mapping processes, analyzing data, and evaluating technology options to implement an effective solution.
I mapped the end-to-end inventory management process to highlight bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Analyzing the historical sales data, seasonality, and lead times revealed patterns and helped accurately forecast demand and evaluate inventory management software options. I considered scalability, integration, cost, support, and training. Then, I integrated RFID tags for real-time inventory tracking, reducing manual errors and improving stock accuracy.
