Benefits Marketplace is a mobile-first, employee-facing website allowing users from over 20 countries to select and enroll in benefits more effectively. I was brought to the project to take the existing administrative functionality and adapt it for worldwide usage.

Together with two engineering leads, I assembled five product and engineering teams from scratch, being the first one in the company to use Agile Scrum methodologies. Through intensive strategy, collaboration, and partnerships, I launched the new user interface with multilingual capabilities and a slew of complex operational and administrative enhancements to serve these 20 markets and 50,000 employees. Five years later, it continues to be a cornerstone of Willis Towers Watson's portfolio.

Data Analytics Platform Implementation

Looker is a robust data analytics and visualization tool that expanded its healthtech startup capabilities. Before using the platform, teams across the organization relied on various inconsistent tools and data sources to collect internal and external metrics. I spearheaded this initiative after seeing a need for standardization, self-service reporting, and building more trust with clients.

Over several months, I collaborated with the data team to migrate the existing data structure to a data lake and played a critical role in validating the development work. I also operated closely with internal stakeholders and clients to define the most pressing analytical needs, developing new dashboards and reporting to create consistent, accurate, and actionable insights. These efforts reduced the internal analytical time by 50% and allowed clients better self-service capabilities to improve transparency in their performance.

Employer Portal Development and Launch

Ideated and executed an employer-focused portal to facilitate better cross-company communication, automate key functions, and improve data access.

Employer groups were spending significant time contacting our customer success representatives for standard requests, which trickled down to the engineering team. While some automated solutions were in place, they were not user-friendly, requiring manual efforts or the engineering team to manage.

The employer portal was a user-friendly solution for many of these issues:
1. A file and messaging exchange section was automated and gave visibility to numerous weekly and monthly interactions.
2. The portal enabled daily or weekly file drops to be automatically scanned and uploaded to our database, significantly reducing manual efforts.
3. An eligibility section was created to manually review and update issues from that complex automation with downstream effects.
4. Self-service reporting was embedded into the portal, allowing clients greater data access and customization.

These features, iterated over a year, significantly reduced customer success and engineering interaction with clients and improved satisfaction.
