Data Lake Ingestion for Process Control Data

Tested and validated a data lake ingestion process to support the required data volume and availability, standardizing and reducing the effort needed for scaling across different use cases.

The project was intended as a proof of concept for a single-use case. Due to its success and reliability, the validated solution was selected as the critical method to send control-related data to the data lake. It leveraged over five different use cases across 30+ manufacturing facilities worldwide, enabling better cross-site monitoring, process improvements, and predictive analytics.

Quality Management Process Improvement

Designed and developed integrations and data visualizations to improve the quality management process in plastics plants, enhancing reliability and communication speed, reducing quality incidents risk, and enabling after-the-fact investigation.

Using multiple interfaces, I synced up the process control systems with the lab ones, improving process reliability and preventing brand value impacts from delivering defective products. I provided a data visualization solution to allow a root cause analysis of quality incidents. The first implementation took place in two facilities. As a product owner, I prioritized and tailored the process to other facilities' needs and expanded the usage of the solution to another eight facilities.

Inventory Management Upgrade

Led research to identify the customer needs for the refinery inventory management solutions and assess available market options.

I led meetings with stakeholders from various refineries to identify the inventory management system needs. I also partnered with a project manager to recognize and interview the potential providers in the market and assess the products through demos.

After the validation period with the key stakeholders to analyze gaps and negotiate improvements, price, and delivery time, we selected the provider to deliver the solution globally used across all refineries. Finally, I worked with stakeholders to prioritize delivery and identify dependencies and potentially conflicting projects.
