Project History

Agent Piggy App for Windows Phone

Led the design of the mobile application for Windows Phone.

I wrote a grant-winning project that led the company to receive funding from Nokia and Aalto University in Espoo, Finland. The project was one of 20 selected projects—from a pool of hundreds of applicants from around the world—to bring impact-driven apps into the Windows mobile ecosystem.

I was responsible for the design, recruited two in-house mobile developers, and hired external contractors in an effort to quickly transfer knowledge into my team. I also moved to Finland for one quarter to meet with mentors, investors, and Windows Phone developers.

The project was a success and the app launched within schedule.

Mentors on a Van for Entrepreneurs (MOVE)

Created a movement, appropriately denominated MOVE, to bring mentoring to secondary and rural cities all across Chile.

Over the five years that I ran this program, I raised funds of over US$50,000 from government sources and US$20,000 from private sources to fund various activities. Some of these included incursion trips (e.g., flying five mentors for a week to a secondary or rural city in Chile) and meeting and greeting local entrepreneurs in a series of events such as speed mentoring sessions, 1:1 mentoring, talks, workshops, trade fairs, and exhibitions. All of these events were organized by me and the cohort of mentors who flew in.

I led over 30 of these incursions, impacting well over 1,000 entrepreneurs over the five years of the project.

Monday-2-Monday | Soft-landing Program

Created and financed a program for small business owners to be able to internationalize their services from Latin America to Spain.

Monday-2-Monday (M2M) was a project launched in early 2018 and ran until late 2019—where through a series of partnerships with important players in key cities in Spain—my team and I were able to design a soft-landing program for startups that was seven days long (precisely Monday to Monday).

We took companies from Chile and Latin America and flew them to Spain to meet with our highly curated list of partners, investors, and suppliers in a roadshow designed to fundraise and find a beachhead market. We forged partnerships with the Commune of Madrid, government agencies (Fundación Madri+D, ICEX, ENISA, CDTI), the Commune of Valencia, Sodercan in Santander, and other private startup incubators as well.

It was a very complete program that achieved its goals, and we were able to internationalize a number of Chilean companies abroad this way.
