  • Web Search Rich Connected Experiences with Internationalization
    Increased Bing's query share in international markets (non-US - UK, FR, AU, DE, IT, ES) by more than 1% with >95% precision.

    To gain query share from Google search in international markets and differentiate from MSN search, Bing was positioned as a decision engine. Every search initiates from a task and hence every search response should be richer, helping in the decision and solving the purpose of the task than just the 10 URLs provided in the SERP (search engine results page).

    Deliver instant answers, entity cards, domain task pages, visual search galleries, and other rich experiences in France and Australia.

    Ensure the brand of Bing as decision engine for France by the rich connected experiences delivered which include instant answers/entity cards for search scenarios of finance, entertainment, sports, weather, brands, places, and people search.

    Experiences delivered for Australia include instant answers/entity cards for search scenarios of finance, currency, file extensions, entertainment, sports (cricket, AFL), weather, brands, places, people search, map search, local search, and phone book search.

    Led product design and development for several Seller facing features and rolled it out to 1500+ sellers.

    Web store was Amazon's platform for SMEs to create their own eCommerce website leveraging Amazon eCommerce services infrastructure.

    While launching web store v2, I owned the product launches of the following seller features which helped on-boarding of several new sellers and help improve usability and productivity of existing sellers on the platform (2012).

    1. Detail page carousel functionality

  • Sort Center Management System (Managing Logistics)
    Led product design and roadmap of v1 of sort center management system for Amazon's first ever in-house logistics platform.

    Sort center management system (SCMS) formed the core of automated package flow mechanisms within the warehouses (fulfillment centers) as well as interim hops called sort centers where sorting to zip-codes happens.

    An SCMS involves various aspects including labor management, shift management, automated robot management, flow visualization of the package from pick, pack, ship, drop, carrier management, and loading onto the carriers, delivery network visualization, etc.

    As part of the project, my responsibility involved building the product artifacts and leading product management for the below features.

    Own and deliver the sort center management system software and deliver automated labor management, task management, loading, pick, pack and shipping mechanisms, flow and visualization of package flow, automated node and network configuration to help launch Amazon’s own logistics and delivery network by launching delivery stations, fulfillment centers, and delivery stations.

  • Cloud Service Management (SaaS)
    Led product re-design effort of CA's service management product from traditional methodology to user profile oriented design.

    CA had an acquired service management SaaS product and an existing on-premise service management product with completely different feature sets, road-maps & very different kind of customers.

    After realizing the gap between CA's products vs other competition in the leader's space in Gartner Quadrant like ServiceNow, BMC, etc., CA wanted to re-design the overall product strategy for service management.

    During this time, in addition to enhancing the existing SaaS product to keep meeting customer demands, reporting and dashboard functionality, improve ticket searches, and operational enhancements, I led the effort of re-envisioning the way service management was done and how it can be optimized by leveraging ML/AI/user-centric design and scenario focused engineering and profile/persona oriented feature development to help improve CA's position in the Gartner's Magic Quadrant.

  • Price Comparison Shopping
    Led the product team to plan and execute the delivery of the biggest price comparison shopping site in India.

    MySmartPrice was the biggest price comparison shopping site in India (21 million users) and needed to take advantage of the user-base to improve stickiness, engagement, conversions and user satisfaction.

    To do this, we have done several data oriented initiatives which involved:
    1. Improving search accuracy and relevance
    2. Improving accuracy and quantity of quality deals being surfaced to users as deals contributed to 50% of the traffic.
    3. Profiling and segmentation of existing user-base to improve email targeting (content and frequency), chrome plugin notification targeting, SMS targeting, etc.
    4. Improve recommendations and suggestions for alternative products to buy
    5. Improve app home page and stickiness factors through surfacing personalized content (category/brand/price preferences).

  • eCommerce Omnichannel Experience
    Helped increase the GMS by 120% YOY vs 20%YOY the previous year to $1 billion and exceeded the target of revenues.

    I worked with four 3rd parties along with M&S and internal Amazon service teams (more than 20 service teams) to deliver an end-to-end omnichannel platform for M&S that includes a mobile, kiosk, and web experiences across multiple markets (M&S launched in Ireland, France, India, etc.) along with the UK.

    In 2011-12, when some of these eCommerce features were less known, we delivered the following market differentiation features like:
    1. Color driven personalized customer journey
    2. Provide Amazon A9 search, Amazon single page checkout for M&S platform
    3. Reduce user confusion and steps in browse journey which improved conversion by more than 80%
    4. Enhanced roomset and interactive product selection experiences leveraging amplience content management platform
    5. SEO enhancements, social Integration, etc. which improved traffic by 35%
    6. Self-service widget creation for M&S to create marketing campaigns, promotions and several other routine tasks to improve eCommerce productivity
    7. Shop your way delivery method and other standard logistic methods and payment methods introduced within M&S
