Project History

Kompliant

https://kompliant.com/

Set up all of the agile ceremonies for a team of eight developers, one designer, and a (junior) product manager. I led the team to take their first product to market and completed all required user testing with some friendly customers.

At Kompliant, we developed and launched a payment processing onboarding service. It allowed any company looking for a payment processor to sign up, be verified, and start accepting payments, all through an automated service.

Realtor.com / Rocket Mortgage Integration

Led a team of engineers and a designer to integrate a unique offering from Rocket Mortgage into the Realtor.com website, which thousands of people visit daily.

With a small team (in a huge company), I worked on integrating a unique offering from Rocket Mortgage into the Realtor.com website. The product we launched is seen and used by thousands of people daily, although the specific numbers are confidential.

During this project, I defined the product to be built, wrote out all the user stories, managed the Agile ceremonies, and worked collaboratively with my team to deliver it by the deadline. It was a great success!

Buckle Up App

https://youtu.be/SNUpc0-v2CU

Founded Buckle Up, which became the most popular mobile application in its category.

Buckle Up was a mobile app that I developed after not being able to find an easy way to fill my spare seats when driving from city to city. The idea was that users could list their spare seats at whatever price they liked, and potential passengers could message them when traveling long distances (the average trip length was 1.5 hours). All users were verified.

I created the product roadmap and managed a small team of international outsourced developers. I did hundreds of interviews and product demos to receive feedback from real users.

Initially, I marketed to people traveling from city to city. However, I realized many of my users traveled to and from music festivals, and my CAC was too high. So, I contacted multiple music festivals in Australia and developed partnership deals with 42 of them who could market to their ticket buyers. I created a widget that I requested they put on their checkout process. It said: "Looking for a ride? Have spare seats and want to pay off some of your ticket? Download Buckle Up."

After implementing this strategy, my weekly ride count went from around 30 per week to over 3,000. I came to San Francisco looking for funding and, in the end, didn't raise money but received an amazing job offer!

Giddiup App

https://youtu.be/V-D0QpXi3YE

Served as the product lead for Small World Social, where we developed a product called Giddiup. Managed a team of 13 and worked with the leadership team to develop the product strategy, roadmap, and vision.

Giddiup was a mobile app that streamlined the process of buying a car. It allowed users to get in-app approval for financing and insurance, book test drives, and have their purchased vehicle delivered to their door.

In addition, we developed a car-sharing marketplace similar to Getaround or Turo in the US, where vehicle buyers could list their car when they weren't using it. All money earned through car-sharing would pay off the funding that the user received through the app. Also, if users weren't approved for funding, they had an opportunity to rent a vehicle instead of buying it, which means that no user was left without an option.

Our tagline was "Get a car in five minutes," and we believed we could make that happen for every user, either by purchasing or borrowing a vehicle.

Voycap Platform

https://youtu.be/MlQysH7dZxc

Led the product discovery phase and design of the Voycap platform. Worked with the developers to confirm sprints were completed on time and performed all QAT to make sure it was developed as specified.

The Voycap platform allows companies to easily make frequent capital raises. It enables investors to make more liquid investments in early-stage companies. The Voyage is a timeline of events that build trust between investors looking to provide funds and companies raising funds.

Mobile App for Creating Registries and Buying Gifts

https://www.shoptings.com/

Led the small team to design, build, launch, and scale a mobile application for creating gift registries and allowing users to buy gifts for others.

For this project, we designed, validated, built, launched, and scaled a mobile application for creating gift registries. The app is called 'Tings' (find it on the App Store). Users can browse through curated gift options, purchase items directly through the app, and manage all their gifting needs in one place. The overall objective of this app was to create a way for people to share love through the power of gifting.

DaVita (Mobile App for Doctors)

https://davita.com/

Built the roadmap and led the development team to create many features within an existing mobile application to help doctors take better care of their patients.

DaVita is a Fortune 500 company that treats over 40% of all dialysis patients within the US. As a Product Manager for their physician mobile application, I worked on an Agile scrum team to define the roadmap and build many important features to ensure doctors had the right data at the right time.

Founder at Web3 Daily (Sold to Milk Road in August 2024)

https://www.web3daily.co/

Built, scaled, and ultimately sold a crypto/AI media company called Web3 Daily over 2.5 years. We sold it to our main competitor, Milk Road.

My co-founder and I created Web3 Daily to help build trust in the crypto space. We (used to) translate all the crazy Web3 and crypto jargon that smart people love to talk about into plain English. We wrote about the latest in AI, Web3, and crypto news Monday through Friday (readable in less than 5 minutes). We were acquired by Milk Road, and they have integrated our audience into their own product, so we are no longer publicly available.

Web3 Daily was an amazing journey, and it was great to build and sell the company all within 2.5 years.
