Global Payments Platform
Led a SaaS payment processing startup to profitability by launching and generating $500,000+ in sales revenue.
The CEO and CTO co-founders of ChannelMeter hired me to join them at 500 Startups and help build the company. My role was to penetrate enterprise digital media markets to find the product-market fit for their YouTube analytics product.
CHALLENGE
They had built a robust, self-service analytics tool that media companies could use to grow their channels. They had some early success and scale, but it didn't get much traction. They hired me to contact enterprise companies, understand their needs, and identify analytics products we could build to grow the business.
I discovered that media companies had huge challenges when managing creators on YouTube. They could have 20,000 to 30,000 creators spread out globally. Once creators signed to their networks, the media companies had significant challenges calculating and making monthly payments, which was expensive.
SOLUTION
I led the design of a payment platform:
• Discovered a new opportunity through customer interviews.
• Validated user needs.
• Aligned the co-founders to pivot.
• Worked with the CTO and engineering to develop the MVP.
RESULT
We charged up to $120,000 per year, annual sales outgrew our fundraising targets, and we generated $500,000 in revenue.
Track My Medicine iOS App and Web Platform
Designed, built, and launched an e-prescription app on iOS for alternative medicine in three months.
I was the co-founder of Track My Medicine, acted as the product manager, and hired in-house and overseas contract developers. We launched the app in three months.
VR Factory Tour
Built a virtual tour for a factory client to give their potential customers a digital experience and insights about their manufacturing process without coming on-site due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Rightpoint is a digital experience design company. The sales team sold a project to a factory that needed to digitize their factory tours. The project was sold as an innovation project with a phased budget.
ROLE
As the lead product manager, my role went beyond the typical responsibilities. I staffed the project, managed the budget, and handled the client relationships. My team included a product manager, a project manager, two developers, and a designer.
PROCESS
I met with the client, led the project kickoff, and conducted a Google Ventures Design Sprint where my team and client stakeholders participated in figuring out what to build.
SOLUTION
We delivered a VR tour for the client on time and within budget with a lot more features than initially planned. During the process, we determined that we should integrate with Salesforce and engage digital animators and content writers. I adjusted resources on the fly, and we delivered a best-in-class VR tour for the client.
