I architected and led a team of 10+ to deliver fintech capabilities as part of a larger product, enabling customers to access integrated bank accounts, prepaid debit cards, and transfer funds through our platform.

These capabilities were integrated via a leading banking-as-a-service (BaaS) platform, significantly simplifying business processes for our customers. These new features, added to a well-established product, are projected to generate $10 million in ARR.

I played a key role in selecting 3rd-party BaaS providers, managing stakeholder collaboration, and working closely with technical program managers and senior leadership. I also navigated the complexities and ambiguities of financial and banking regulations, ensuring the product was built to scale across multiple countries.

As a senior developer, I led a small team in migrating a decades-old legacy platform to Azure Kubernetes Service. I was responsible for planning, estimation, technical design and architecture, stakeholder communication, release management, and the final cutover to Azure.

While the architecture was reimagined for performance, resilience, and fault tolerance, I ensured the team reused significant parts of the existing business logic. The legacy system operated at peak capacity nearly all the time and required database interventions during traffic spikes. The main goal for the new system was to create a performant, reliable, and fault-tolerant platform that could scale effortlessly.

Observability, a key area lacking in the legacy product, was a major focus. The rearchitected system introduced robust observability features, improving audit capabilities and troubleshooting efficiency.

With the new architecture, the product excels in engineering and operational excellence. It is a truly modern platform that can stay relevant and be easily upgraded for years, even decades.
