Project History

Reportum

Spearheaded the delivery of a new platform with a responsive web app, a new API layer, and a mobile app.

Product roadmap and vision: I engaged with technology partners to implement integration with other products. I also collaborated closely with the commercial team and the product owner to create a roadmap and deliver innovation.

DevOps and culture shift: I reviewed and extended the CI and build pipelines, transitioned to treating the entire infrastructure as code, and mentored the dev team on the design principles of operation-ready systems. I also instituted regular 1:1s and training programs with tech teams to ensure they were "heard" and would develop a sense of ownership for the overall solution rather than a list of software components.

Release Butler and JMS Butler

Launched a deployment and release management toolset for the TIBCO stack that achieved annual savings exceeding £500,000.

I managed the initiative's entire SDLC. Release Butler proved to reduce the errors in deployments and configuration from hundreds to less than five, and the average release deployment time from 40+ hours to three hours.

When implemented at a client, it yielded annual savings exceeding £500,000 by streamlining the deployments and service transitions. It also improved the collaboration between application support and development teams and strengthened development practices, reducing defect tickets by 87% within three months.

Global Trade Store

Implemented a global trade store that fulfilled the bank's regulatory reporting compliance across multiple jurisdictions and for various financial products.

I designed and oversaw the implementation of a set of APIs and business services to leverage a T1 bank's new global trade store, including its credit, derivatives, fixed income, e-trading, rates, and currency.

This distributed system could handle 2.5+ billion records with a growth rate of around 18 million per day. The design was made scalable and fault-tolerant, offering a fluent DSL for the application consumers to query the services.
