Launch of a Custom Transactional Accounting Platform at Expedia
Managed a scaled-agile implementation of an enterprise platform for real-time transactional accounting, combining multiple custom cloud event-based services with an on-premises Oracle ERP.
I performed program discovery, road mapped its phased delivery, developed alignment with this approach, and started work across multiple business and technology departments, doing this after two prior failed attempts to start this project before my arrival.
I led the program with 4-8 delivery teams, each using different flavors of Agile, and some being completely new to Agile methods. I acted as a program manager for the entire delivery and a leader of scrum of scrums.
As the program's needs emerged, I also put on various additional hats, such as Agile coach, hands-on scrum master, QA manager, and solutions architect.
The program built and integrated a set of in-house AWS cloud-based services (processing millions of daily accounting events) with Oracle ERP financials.
