Agile Leadership Training

Created and administered Agile leadership training material, focusing specifically on mindset and execution of an Agile environment for leaders.

I created an hour-long discussion-centric training for leaders new to the client's organization and Agile methodology. This training included answering the question "Why Agile?" and covered the basics of how Agile works best in an organization and the specifics of how their teams use Agile in their organization. It was a highly interactive training and included ample time and opportunity for in-depth discussion and specific questions.

Innovation and Planning Week

Worked with the client to implement a quarterly "Innovation and Planning Week" across the organization.

As a result of feedback from team members, I worked with the leadership to implement a quarterly "Innovation and Planning Week" across the organization. During this week, all non-critical work stops and teams focus entirely on planning for the new quarter and any self-identified areas for improvement. Teams held training sessions, workshops, process improvement sessions, and more. I worked with the scrum masters to guide the team in determining what would be most valuable for them to spend their time on without prescribing activities across teams. This week also incorporated our quarterly planning, taking a high-level view of the upcoming quarter and the strategic goals to determine the most valuable work in accomplishing them. Most recently, a more cross-functional view was incorporated into the discussions, and work has been implemented to move away from the more siloed perspective on work.

Client Portfolio

Created a roadmap and executed the process of defining and organizing the organization's portfolio.

I created a defined roadmap for the PMO to work with the clients to create a transparent, organized, and searchable portfolio list of all work for which the client's organization was responsible. This required conversations with all levels of leadership, several iterations, extensive documentation, and an ongoing process to ensure the information was maintained regularly.
