  • Spearheaded agile transformation at the major pharma company's Greece-Cyprus-Malta cluster. Set up three scrum teams (digital marketing). Coached two scrum masters, three product owners, and senior management; 15 months full-time and six part-time.
  • Reorganized the then 9-person engineering team that grew to 18 into two scrum and one kanban team for а Series A-funded Vivante Health after a seed-stage free-for-all development process. Worked 18 months full-time.
  • Transitioned Vodafone Greece to in-house software development. Trained a big part of the organization (15 two-day and five one-day sessions) on Scrum and Agile. Set up six cross-functional development teams and cross-team collaboration.
  • Provided hourly agile coaching for engineering managers and executives at Greek startups such as taxi-hailing app Beat and Diatasys, a financial software developer and SAP integrator, and an online freelance agency.
  • Held training such as five private and two public two-day courses on Scrum and Kanban. Follow-up cohorts for scrum masters and product owners (two each).
  • Founded the Athens Agile Coaching Circle, a community of agile coaches to develop and practice coaching skills and competencies. Volunteered as a co-organizer of the Agile Greece Summit in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Spoke at two Agile Greece meetups.

  • Designed the solution and produced the technical proposal that was part of the winning bid for a € 7.5 million managed services project for the largest bank in Greece, NBG.
  • Developed a prototype of a GSM and GPS-enabled tracking device for ATMs.

Managed a team of 18 software engineers, data scientists, and UI/UX designers. Reorganized the team into two cross-functional scrum teams and one kanban team. Trained and mentored the teams and their product owners. Mainly served as scrum master and agile coach, but on occasion employed a hands-on approach with the team as well, helping with Android development, test automation, or DevOps as needed.

I was the first hire, lead developer, scrum master of the initial team, and then COO as the company grew from zero to 55 over two years, with four scrum and two kanban teams collaborating with the scrum of scrums and special interest groups.

The project consisted of a back-office web app for purchasing managers, supporting a lot of the complexity of paper-based contracts, and a calculation engine that could serve 80 million pricing requests per day and 20,000 sub-second transaction-safe bookings.

My Vodafone App and Web

Spearheaded the transition from vendor to in-house software development for Vodafone Greece.

Helped with hiring and training around 30 developers. Set up four cross-functional scrum teams. Organized the transitional phase of coexisting with (Waterfall) vendors and other organization departments. Set up Spotify-like scaling with squads, chapters, and tribes. Trained and mentored scrum masters, job shadowing each for the first couple of months, and product owners.

Set up quarterly cross-team portfolio Kanban. Formalized project qualification process with lean canvas and cost of delay. Trained other parts of the organization on Agile and Scrum and fostered more interaction between business and tech, particularly with extended use of user story mapping.
