It was a global solution for all three regions replacing regional tools. Test configuration was fully customizable (project and use case specific). The solution ensured a continuous and reliable execution for a large number of hours (1,000), automatic verification of results and test report creation, online and offline working modes, high availability, automatic failover, and data analysis of results with BI tools.

My PhD was in the area of process-aware information systems and business process management. The start point is the business process repository which associates business cases with business processes inside organizations.

Part of my end-to-end solution was a component for comparing business processes and obtaining a similarity factor based on the topology of the process graph and the labels of the activities composing the business process.

I extended the activity label match to a semantic context, ontology-based. If a high similarity is calculated, the collaborative solution is built by merging the business processes used inside organizations for the same business case. The merge operation is followed by a reduction step identifying the process with as few edges as possible that have the same reachability level as the original input process models.

By the end of my PhD, I published nine scientific papers, four of which are ISI Web of Science indexed.

The tool was used by more than 20 projects, internal and external (radar, airbag, vision) and in manufacturing due to the rich user interface, easy deployment and installation, configurability, performance, and a large number of features like diagnostics, simulation, cybersecurity, memory files, memory configuration, plotting, and monitoring.

With my team and agile techniques, we developed a large performant and reliable solution that quickly replaced external tools of competitor companies. Due to the urgency of releasing the product to the internal projects as it was used for their successful deliveries, we implemented a continuous delivery pipeline with automated testing, nightly builds published to package repositories, and dynamically accessed by the customers.

The product considered non-functional requirements such as good performance, reliability, and functional safety. With my team, we also worked on decoupling the configuration from project installation for facile customizations.

As a team leader of four individuals and software architect, I managed and designed a batch of tools for the continuous integration and deployment process of an external customer, Continental Automotive Germany. Tools were used by multiple development and validation agile teams.

With a team of six engineers as a team leader and project manager, we worked on an end-to-end solution for an external telecommunications company (started from Hewlett-Packard) that permitted integrators to define or modify SIM activation workflows. The solution was a JBoss jBPM based on a plugin architecture.

Besides modifying the activation workflows dynamically, integrators were able to add new customized plugins according to the operator requirements for specific use cases like provisioning, user interaction, MSISDN, or permanent IMSI pool. The workflow was dynamically selected according to the IMSI value received during the mobile attachment.

The solution was complex from a technical and timing perspective as lots of high availability requirements were stated—any started workflow must be completed or rolled back, and request or response messages were redirected to available servers in case of failure.
