Augmented Reality Exhibit at the Pro Football Hall of Fame

An AR exhibit featuring the talking bronze busts of NFL legends John Madden and Michael Strahan. I built this project in collaboration with a 3D artist from Activision, using a variety of technologies.

First, I developed a proprietary motion tracking system to capture the facial movements of our subjects (Madden and Strahan), using the TrueDepth camera on an iPad Pro.

Then I sat with these football personalities in the studio to record interviews and capture the data necessary to drive the exhibit.

From there, I built out playback technology into an iOS app that allowed museum patrons to ask questions like, "What was it like to be carried off the field after winning the Super Bowl?" and hear from the talking, digital bust in an AR session in real time.

The project was a success and featured at Super Bowl week in Atlanta in February 2019.
