Employment

  • IT Director

    2021 - PRESENT
    YOMA Solutions GmbH
    • Developed a lambda architecture to handle big data and perform analyses.
    • Reduced the cost of operating the platform to less than half of the original total cost.
    • Improved software quality, leading to more availability, reduced mean time to change, and more positive measurable effects.
Technologies: AWS, Python, Software Architecture, Git, TypeScript, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, Deep Learning, Machine Learning
  • Senior Lead Software Engineer

    2019 - 2021
    Jungheinrich AG
    • Spearheaded the design and development of an industry-leading API tailored to customer needs. This was a pioneer project and I am also the major inventor of an EU patent in this area.
    • Migrated a Cloud 1.0 designed monolith on EC2 into a seamless service-oriented architecture (SOA), leveraging all benefits of AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and more.
    • Successfully grew a platform for big logistics companies with state-of-the-art technology and a high rate of adaptation over other competitors.
    • Received personal commendation of the CFO and Jungheinrich's customers for playing the key role in the digitalization of the intralogistics industry branch.
Technologies: AWS, Software Architecture, Git, Rust, TypeScript, Go, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Python, Node.js
  • IT Consultant

    2018 - 2019
    Cassini Consulting AG
    • Worked on a variety of projects from insurance companies to startups to eCommerce. I also spent some time in China working on a collaborative project.
    • Held a talk at CodeTalks Hamburg in 2018 about how to achieve software quality and measuring quality metrics.
    • Contributed to migration projects transforming on-premise software into a cloud-native environment and approach.
    • Performed workshops and training on engineering excellence—code quality, software quality, and containerization.
Technologies: AWS, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Software Architecture, Git, TypeScript, C#, Go, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Node.js
  • Senior Developer and Team Lead

    2011 - 2018
    Orgadata AG
    • Built up the team for CAD and 3D data processing from three to over 15 people, while achieving major milestones in order to become the market leader.
    • Led the development of all CAD, 2D, and 3D-related components for simulating the construction elements of windows, doors, and curtain walls.
    • Owned major projects, including the iterative transformation of a legacy Delphi codebase into C# with interoperability.
Technologies: C#, Delphi, Software Architecture, Git, .NET

Experience

  • Technology Lead CAD — LogiKal
    https://orgadata.com

For many years, I owned the design, implementation, and other aspects of the CAD, 2D, and 3D components of the global market-leading software solution, LogiKal.
Primarily with metal workers as users, this software brings planning, simulation, and machining capabilities. It also allows seamless integration into Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
During this time, I was the technology and team lead for the respective team(s).

  • API for Intralogistics

I designed, built, and maintained an API that connects a fleet of smart devices (drivable) with their renter. This API has been a pioneer project in the intralogistics branch and is now considered a key element in companies' roadmap and plans. During the project, I created a patent for IoT device communication in context with cloud-based automation.

  • eCommerce China Expansion

I was the technical lead for expanding one of Europes biggest eCommerce companies into the Chinese market. Within that project, I connected the IT systems based in Germany and Europe with the newly built systems in China to be able to process orders. This project featured on-site work in China, integration for SAP and other Europe-based systems as well as logistics, and much more.

  • 3D Construction Software for Architects

The project consisted of standalone 3D construction software, also available as an add-on for Autodesk Revit, making it especially easy to design curtain walls, windows, doors, and other construction elements. Including a seamless integration into Autodesk Revit and the proprietary software LogiKal, which is the global market leader, the process of design to construction is much more efficient for our clients.

  • Apollon

A solution that analyzes tickets to derive a meaningful priority, assignable components, and other additional information only from the title and description. It pre-organizes tickets and adds some more information to them to ease the respective product owner's work.

I performed the data mining on AWS with Python and the deep learning implementation with Python and PyTorch.

  • complate
    https://replicadse.github.io/complate

"complate" is an open-source in-terminal text templating solution that I built to replace variables with data interactively.
Its primary use case has been templating GIT commit messages according to a custom-defined standard. Still, it can serve many more applications, such as configuration file generation or even code generation.

  • senile
    https://replicadse.github.io/senile

"senile" is an open-source project to keep track of parameterized TODO statements in your codebase.
The original use case was to find open TODOs for a codebase that did not use tickets and parameterize them to process these further. This project I developed has been additionally used to act as a merge and quality gate.
