Showtime Mobile Content Management and Delivery System

System content was imported using XML feeds from content partners. Subscribers were able to directly download music from mobile phones using a WAP/GPRS connection. The system included some statistical, customer care, and manual content management interfaces. The entire system was developed using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL as a database. The system was profitable based on money paid by mobile operators in exchange for subscriber traffic.

AYCE Content Management for Ukrainian Mobile Operator «Kyivstar»

The software allowed users to buy weekly subscriptions and gave them the ability to download songs from a database of songs in four different genres. The database was updated weekly. Users could subscribe through several different channels: SMS, WAP page, and IVR. Content could be downloaded only by «Kyivstar» subscribers from mobile phones using a WAP/GPRS connection. The system was comprised of three main parts: (1) A Java back-end handling SMS traffic and deliveries; (2) A Ruby on Rails administrative interfaces handling content management, statistics interfaces, and customer care; and (3) A Ruby on Rails front page accessible from mobile devices.
