Experience

VGA Controller Design and Implementation on a ZedBoard SoC

The round-robin arbiter was modeled using Verilog, and its behavioral simulation was done using Questa Sim. A verification environment was also built using SystemVerilog to check its functional correctness and code coverage, which showed 100% in both code and functional coverage. The design was synthesized and implemented on ZedBoard at a frequency of 100 megahertz.

Proximity-couple-fed MIMO Antenna for UWB Applications

An HFSS was used to design a 26 x 22-millimeter MIMO antenna for portable ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. We simulated and measured the antenna parameters, which can operate in the entire UWB from 3.1 to 10.6 gigahertz with mutual coupling of less than -15 decibels between the two ports. The proximity couple feed is used in the proposed design, resulting in better performance. The designed antenna systems can be used for Bluetooth, wifi, and WiMax applications, where a high data rate and support for MIMO transmission are required. This work can extend to more than 2-element MIMO antenna systems for increased channel capacity in high data-rate applications.
