- Designed and deployed an in-house anti-fraud system that integrated internal and third-party data sources, performed ETLs, and had extension spots for models and rules.
- Trained, deployed, and maintained a highly-available, real-time image classifier model that processes 10 million images per day, 1,200 per second in a peak. This model removes forbidden items such as pornography and flags wrongly classified items.
- Acted as a lead architect of a machine learning operations (MLOps) team. Built a Kafka and ksqlDB feature store that enabled deployments of real-time stateful aggregations. Accomplished gains such as a 19% decrease in the internal fraud index.
- Managed the OLX data science strategy and the central data science team, including its priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Led a team effort to optimize and refactor a large Spark pipeline, halving costs and saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in infrastructure cost.
- Created and served many small internal web applications using streamlit, react, and dataviz tools such as plotly.

I was the first and main back-end engineer, architect, and also co-founder of the NGO. We built the website portal using a Python back end, a Postgres database, and a react front end.
We also use Prefect and Airflow for scheduling data collection jobs. We use serverless and cloud features to drive cost and complexity down GCP's Big Query, Cloud Run, Lambda functions, etc.
