Work Experience

Staff DevOps Consultant

2022 - 2024
Banking Client
  • Managed 20+ microservices, including their deployment and availability in OpenShift across multiple regions for the internal cloud.
  • Conducted resource allocation and utilization analysis, optimizing it with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) serverless components like Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and workflow to reduce infra costs by 25% compared to AWS.
  • Ensured high availability and scalability of deployed applications, UI components, and microservices in GCP and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) while implementing robust monitoring and dashboarding in Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Provisioned the three-tier end-to-end deployment in AWS with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions in Fargate ECS. Enabled OpenAI calls to respond to the prompt queries.
Technologies: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), OpenShift, Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), MongoDB, Ansible, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Bash, Python, pylint

Senior DevOps Engineer

2017 - 2022
Consulting Firm
  • Led a team of four engineers in successfully migrating 40+ legacy applications to a microservices architecture using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Improved the availability of microservices by migrating from Docker Swarm to a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform in OpenShift and Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), which resulted in a better service level objective (SLO).
  • Implemented a logging solution using ELK cluster with Filebeat and application performance monitoring (APM) for microservices monitoring along with Prometheus and Grafana, which improved the service level indicator (SLI).
  • Involved as an active SWAT team member to handle issues while supporting a globally distributed, multi-cloud hybrid environment, including change management and on-call rotation.
Technologies: Amazon EKS, MuleSoft, Puppet, Docker Swarm, Docker Compose, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Web Application Firewall (WAF), HP SiteScope, Kubernetes, Spring Microservice, Matillion ETL for Redshift, SonarQube, ELK (Elastic Stack), Filebeat, Jira, Grafana, Prometheus

Senior Build and Release Engineer

2014 - 2017
Oil and Gas Servicing Firm
  • Automated infrastructure deployment across cloud providers, AWS, and internal VMware cloud, which improved the application availability by 45%.
  • Leveraged AWS CloudFormation to automate the end-to-end deployment of integrated environments, which improved availability and SLI.
  • Introduced Rundeck as a choice for a CI/CD tool, along with Scalr, to improve automated scaling capabilities across multiple cloud streams.
  • Collaborated closely with development, QA, and sales teams to provide suitable working environments.
Technologies: Amazon Web Services (AWS), VMware ESXi, AWS CloudFormation, Rundeck, Puppet, JBoss

Experience

Manufacturing Dashboard with OpenAI

This three-tier application uses React for the front end, FastAPI with OpenAI calls as the middle layer, and PostgreSQL for the back end. I implemented end-to-end deployment in AWS with Terraform and Ansible, along with GitHub Actions in Fargate Elastic Container Service (ECS). I enabled OpenAI calls to respond to prompt queries.

ECS End-to-end Deployment

https://gitlab.com/hajain/ECSTF
I developed a solution for deploying ECS with proper security and roles. The solution front-ends with an ALB, along with the creation of a VPC and proper routing rules to access the cluster. The setup is a single-click installation for an application that needs ECS infrastructure for its deployment in AWS.
