Data Model for Retail BI

A SQL-based model agnostic to the relational database management system (RDBMS) platform to support retail merchandising operations such as planning, buying, and allocation. I was part of the back-end development team that built a model and ETL components that would map data from the clients' source systems to a standard data model. The data model fed a pre-built BI package built in MicroStrategy. Key components included analyzing sales and inventory data to predict stockouts and overstocks while adjusting for seasonality, recommending purchase order actions, and suggesting when to markdown items.

COVID-19 Data Analysis

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I used SQL and Alteryx to build data sets used in visualizations to help the health system. The data sets assisted the health care system by managing bed and ventilator availability, monitoring protective equipment supplies, assessing the impact on staffing due to employees being quarantined, and analyzing the financial impacts due to the shutdown of elective care.
