FCDJFS Community Portal

The community portal was an effort by Franklin County Job and Family Services to provide a resource that would help individuals who were in need of benefits (food, medical, cash assistance, and so on). The portal would give them access to necessary information regarding their case statuses without having to resort to waiting in long lines or phone calls that may not get answered.

The project had barely started when I started my job as the team's supervisor and had a handful of users accessing the website. Throughout my tenure, the project grew in scope and user access. By the time I left, we had several thousand users of the portal and had attracted the interest of the state.

Sometime after I left, the site was closed down, and a state-level portal was implemented. I choose to believe that the site, which was initially the brainchild of my supervisor, was the catalyst for a state-level resource that would help many more people in the state of Ohio.

The link supplied goes to an information page that once housed the website.

Supercomputer Usage SQL Query

While working for the Ohio Supercomputer Center, I wrote a SQL query that utilized the daily computer job logs for the supercomputers that produced a result set of the daily percentage of maximum potential usage rates for the different machines.
