Employment

  • Managing Partner

    2009 - 2020
    AppDelegates
    • Developed React Native app and Google Cloud back-end for The Lotus Method, a pioneering fitness company for expectant and post-natal women. The app includes a "light AI" workout generation algorithm that learns the clients' injuries and symptoms.
    • Developed StubHub Commemorative Ticket Builder, a marketing activation app that allowed fans at events to design a customized ticket that included a green-screened photo and custom text. More than 1 million fans have used it.
    • Developed AT&T Speed of Light game that used 15 Samsung Android phones connected to a Samsung tablet that tested guest's response time to a variety of random challenges. The project required a custom network layer to be written in Android Java.
    • Developed Zord Power Rangers builder for iPad that lets kids design their own 3D Power Ranger character. The app was written in iOS Objective-C and included custom 3D menu elements.
    • Designed and coded the control system for Visa's Tech Innovation Center in San Francisco. The project required a security clearance and navigating Visa's IT infrastructure.
    • Won a 2013 Mobile Excellence Award for GQ Live, an augmented reality app that lets users point their phone at photos in GQ articles (and ads) and have live content played over the photos.
    • Wrote a scavenger hunt app (and Node.js/AngularJS back end) for Dicks Last Resort restaurants. The app is used to send guests on scored scavenger hunts around DLR locations such as the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

Experience

  • The Lotus Method
    https://www.thelotusmethodsf.com/

This about-to-be-released app designs custom workouts for pregnant and post-natal women using a light AI that learns from the clients' symptoms and injuries. The app is written in the latest React Native version (0.62) and makes extensive use of the Google Cloud infrastructure: Firestore, Firebase Auth, Cloud Storage. I also wrote a SailsJS/React back end for the client to create exercises, test algorithm tweaks, and more.

  • StubHub Commemorative Ticket

The StubHub Commemorative Ticket Experience allows guests at Staples Center, StubHub Center and Wells Fargo Center, to create customized full-color commemorative keepsake tickets with their own photo booth photos. The brand activation is the most popular one ever at Staples Center and has had more than 1,000,000 fans through to date. The activation has been running nonstop for five years.
This project included the development of a native iOS Swift app (originally in Objective-C), and in-booth NodeJS image and print server, management console, and a cloud back-end that handled social media and email activation completion.
Both the iOS app and the back-end made use of facial recognition to both accurately count guests and determine demographic information.

  • AT&T Beats

This project used a number of AT&T Samsung phones and a Samsung tablet to let fans at music festivals and college football games mix their own music using the phones as turntables and beat generators. Everything was written in Android Java and the back end was done in PHP.
