Experience

Digital SIP Transformation

The project involved the SIP transformation at global IBM locations, i.e., moving from legacy to SIP connectivity. The country-specific sub-projects covered all sites in those countries and moved their legacy connectivity to IP connectivity through Oracle Session Border Controller (SBC) devices. The project included analyzing data by site and country, selecting the right size device, complying with local in-country regulations, and connecting back to a centralized application server for traffic routing.

I oversaw 60% of all locations in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and Latin America. As part of the overall solution, I delivered a final technical solution document, which included the overall solution design per country and associated pricing. I was also involved in procurement with sales, customers, and a third-party vendor, Oracle. The scope of work included the PMO and legal team to verify the solution's applicability for certain countries, such as Vietnam, Slovakia, and Slovenia, to align with the legal permissions to deliver the solution in these countries.

IBM SUT Application Integration

Sametime Unified Telephony (SUT) application had to be integrated with a Cisco Unified Communications application. The project included integrating two applications and defining call flow diagrams between the two applications to achieve Single Number Reach (SNR) for users.

I compared customer requirements, collaborated with stakeholders, interacted with vendors, created high-level design documents, defined multiple traffic flows, generated pricing, and returned it to the customer and sales.

On-premise to Hosted Cloud Migration

A large-scale cloud migration project to move on-premise unified communications applications hosted in various data centers worldwide and support enterprise telephony for around 160,000 users. The project involved designing and pricing a cloud migration solution for countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as for the United States and Canada.

I looked after the solution for the Asia-Pacific region with a total user base of around 100,000 customers across China, India, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The deliverables included identifying client requirements and third-party applications for integration and defining implementation tasks, support structure, and pricing.
