Formula for Thrills

Can you work out the formula for thrills? Figure out how to thrill your riders but finish at a safe speed by altering various factors on each of our five rollercoaster tracks. Levels 1 and 2 are trial and error where you’ll need to work out the right height combinations. Level 3 gets trickier and you’ll need to uses ideas about gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy to complete a set of Formulae Tasksheets.

Formula for Thrills was an exciting educational project that I was the sole programmer for. I got a chance to work with physicists on finding a good simulation algorithm, and then I combined the power of Canvas with the beautiful animations of Hype to create a fun and accessible game.

Skyline Skaters

Skate across the rooftops of the world! Perform hazardous jumps from building to building with only your skateboard to escape the authorities!

I contributed to this game while working for Tactile Entertainment. It was a great opportunity to see a game from start to release and then see updates and support.

Airheads Jump

Tilt and tap your device in a jungle hop to the top! Use platforms and power ups to bounce your way through over 100 levels, including catching butterflies, smacking Tikis and freeing your fellow Airheads.

I contributed to this game while working for Tactile Entertainment. It was the second commercial game I ever contributed to, and it was a great learning experience.

Multiverse: Connected Universes

http://oana.itch.io/multiverse-connected-universes
Your ship was dragged through a wormhole and is now trapped in strange connected universes that he can travel between using wormholes. Avoid obstacles and collect stars to return to your universe.

Made for the Ludum Dare Compo #30.

I really enjoyed the theme of this competition, and decided to make a ship controlled by Newtonian physics, Asteroids-style. It was my first attempt at playing with Unity’s new 2D tools.

I believe it is a really promising idea, and I intend to create a mobile version of this game with multiple levels in the future.

Find the Challenging Words

Find the Challenging Words is a game about searching for the highest scoring words within a randomly generated grid. You earn coins every game that you can use to buy tips, more turns for a game round, and shuffling the board.

My first self-published game, made primarily for experimental purposes.

Don’t Hit The Sides

Move two side paddles independently pong-style to prevent balls from hitting the side walls. If you hit a ball 5 times with a paddle, it will disappear, but more will be shot with the cannon. Can you stay afloat?

I made this game as part of the Ludum Dare #58 game competition. It was made entirely by myself, including the design, graphics and sound.

Once releasing it in the Play Store, I was surprised to see a large number of downloads in spite of no advertising, as well as an ok retention rate. This game will receive a major improvement in an update in the near future, as well as a port to iOS, so stay tuned!

Sprint Car Dirt Track Racing

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sprint-car-dirt-track-game/id991639715?mt=8
Sprint Car Dirt Track Racing is for all those mud slinging fans, slide around corners just as they do in real life. Sprint Car Racing fun to it’s extreme! race with 8 cars on 9 tracks with more to come! if your a fan of sprint car racing then this game is definitely for you, racing around a dirt track has never been so much fun!

A simple racing game with specific requirements, this game was quite fun to make. I also had the opportunity to make several updates to it, including a championship mode.

Munchbot

The objective of the game is for you to grab as many food items as possible from three moving conveyor belts within the limited time allocated. Direct the robotic arm by moving your finger on the iPad / iPhone to grab food. All the food items have different point values, so the more you swipe, the higher your score! There are however, trick items will need to be avoided as they carry negative values.

I was contracted to re-make the game in Unity, to make it scale better on the new iPhone 6 and fix a few minor issues in the process.
