Work Experience

Owner | Senior Programmer

2012 - PRESENT
Compile Studio
  • Created a mobile app for TGI Friday's GT to replace the physical loyalty card, which helped owners have more control over the loyalty gifts. The app assisted in reducing fraud, it was created with React and Cordova.
  • Built software to control the orders of a company that sells fuel. The main takeaway from this project was that all the approved orders were to be uploaded to SAP automatically, which reduced the human error to 5%. It was built with React.
  • Developed software to control expense budgets for the sales representatives and calculated the company's reimbursements based on the budget; we reduced the total time from one month to one week. This was created with React and Node.
  • Instituted a signature generation system that generated a standardized signature based on the Active Directory information. The problem was reduced to zero since users were no longer expected to build their own signature; Created with Vanilla JS.
  • Created software to display all the network coverage for each technology offered by a telecom company, which reduced the time to get services to one day, and the installation to one week. Built on React.
  • Migrated a web portal of more than 100 static pages to a WordPress site fulfilling all of the client's requirements. Reduced the previous programmers' time estimate to suit the client's needs.
  • Managed a team that built an intranet site for 18 internal business units. There was a constraint of not using any prebuilt CMS, but the time was reduced by creating an in-house CMS and helper libraries to avoid any duplicated code.
  • Made a page for one of Guatemala's most famous football clubs, considering the number of visitors. With the design, sales increased from the client by at least 400%.
  • Established multiple synchronization APIs between SAP Business One and the site built on WordPress, helping the client get twice the number of clients.
  • Built a site and API for a toll system. The application became the top payment channel for the service.

Lowercase Productions
  • Built an in-house CMS to address the client's struggle with complex back-end systems, increasing the new clients' rate by 200%.
  • Formed outreach tools introducing the online outreach initiative, which led to government-based agencies having more reach, translating to a 200-300% increase in neighborhood participation.
  • Developed an HTML and JavaScript game for a government agency to raise awareness of what the agency does. Users provided great responses to the opportunity the agency gave, and awareness grew by 50%.
  • Devised a map-based survey to get commute information from the neighbors and received an increase of 60% in users compared to those who took the previous year's survey.
  • Produced a game-like budget survey tool to get the neighbors to input expense reports for reallocation based on the user's needs, increasing participation in the survey to 100%.

Friday's Guatemala Application

http://fridays.com.gt/beneficios.html
The application was created to replace the physical card for the loyalty program. The app allowed the owners have more control over who gets the rewards and the ability to note if there were any misuse of the program. The app was made available on Android and iOS.

Football Club Communications

A website was created for one of Guatemala's football clubs, with the specification of making it look similar to the Juventus F.C. site. Still, it had to be built on WordPress with a medium budget.

One of the challenges was to display everything correctly on all screen sizes.

The requirements also included creating software to synchronize the products with the SAP inventory and building new products when they arrived from SAP.

Courage to Run Cordova iOS App

This project was built on React for the front end; it connects to Laravel on the back end and uses a MySQL database to store all the information. Laravel is used to create the back end and the API that feeds the information to React. I also used Cordova to compile the React built into an iOS application.
