Ansible Playbooks for Managing VMware-based Infrastructure

https://github.com/rjrpaz/ansible-vmware
The set of playbooks allowed me to do most of the main tasks of managing a VMware-based infrastructure. A lot of sysops tasks were just a combination of these. For example, patching involved:
• Shutting down a VM.
• Taking a snapshot.
• Starting the VM.
• Applying the patch.
• Restarting the VM.
• Running post-checks.

IaC Testing Layer

https://github.com/rjrpaz/fg-challenge
As part of a technical challenge, I developed a pipeline that included:
• Terraform code to create a cluster of two EC2 instances behind an ALB running Nginx, serving a static file.
• Terratest stage to automatically test the Terraform code.

The pipeline was implemented using Github Actions.

Deployment Using Helm and Traefik

https://github.com/rjrpaz/deploy-using-helm
Developed a full provisioned pipeline to deploy a static web page using Helm and Traefik.
The project consists of a static HTML page running on its own Docker image deployed as a container in a Kubernetes cluster using Helm. The pipeline also includes a Traefik container as an ingress.

Delivery for a Three-tier Node.js Application in the Cloud

https://github.com/rjrpaz/tt-challenge
This project aimed to design a continuous delivery architecture for a scalable and secure 3-tier Node.js application. Both web and API tiers are exposed to the internet, while the database tier is not. All resources were created using Terraform, and the infrastructure is high availability.

RSS to Telegram Gateway

https://github.com/rjrpaz/rss2t
rss2t is a simple bot to use as a gateway between an RSS feeder and a few Telegram channels. This script runs via cron and updates different channels, including any new entries from different RSS feeds. The feeds are grouped according to the subject.

Twitter to Telegram Gateway

https://github.com/rjrpaz/t2t
Usually, when I check a tweet with useful information, but I have no time to read the article's link, I'm forced to add it to Saved Tweets, and it will probably die there.
This project aims to follow the timeline of specific Twitter users, check for new tweets, download them and send them to a Telegram channel.

Centralized Telephone Billing System

https://www.robertopaz.com.ar/centralized/telephone/billing/system/2014/02/21/Centralized_telephone_billing_system.html
Around 1999 I started to work for the local government in Córdoba, Argentina. I was part of the team that managed everything related to communications and networking.

This specific project included:
• Getting PBX billing information through RS-232 data loggers.
• Client-server software to upload billing information to the main server.
• Web CGI development to access billing information.

Virtual Web Laboratory for Digital Electronics

https://github.com/rjrpaz/gds-820
Created a virtual lab for electronic development based on the GDS-820. It included a web CGI interface for the GDS-820 oscilloscope. This oscilloscope had an RS-232 port, which allowed to manage the device and obtain dict values, including all the x and y values. The result was printed on a screen using Gnuplot and CGI.

Oscilloscope's main features:

Live Streaming from Raspberry Pi

https://www.robertopaz.com.ar/streaming/ustream/raspberry/pi/camera/board/2014/02/20/Live_streaming_Ustream_Raspberry_Pi_plus_Camera_board.html
This project consisted of a guided presentation on enabling live streaming through the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi camera board easily allows adding video support to the Raspberry Pi board. The camera board can be obtained as an additional module, and it only requires connecting the panel and upgrading the firmware. The live streaming used Ustream as the media streamer, one of the internet's most used streaming services.

Adding RTC to Raspberry Pi

https://github.com/rjrpaz/RTCforRaspberryPi
Raspberry Pi is a board that doesn't include an RTC. This feature may not be an issue if the board has an internet connection. However, for standalone boards, this may be required. This project includes a couple of utils to manage DS1307, an RTC from Dallas Semiconductors, through i2c.
