Experience

  • Colorbox WordPress Theme (Development)
    https://wordpress.org/themes/colorbox/

I created the theme in the early days of my WordPress career as a practice, but never submitted or uploaded anywhere. However, when I applied for becoming a theme reviewer, I thought about submitting at least one theme to become a theme author myself, so that I can experience the review process as an author as well.

So, I tweaked the theme a bit and uploaded it. It got approved and it has allowed me to learn a great deal about the WordPress coding standards.

This theme was also an experiment with CSS pseudo-classes, through which the posts and widgets get automatic colors, depending on its position (hence the name "Colorbox" came to my mind).

Though it doesn't have many options and such, it, however, will always remain a good starting point for my WordPress career.

  • Review Team Website (Development)
    https://review.team/

I worked on this project on behalf of a client from another marketplace.

This project required extensive work with WordPress multisite (i.e. Network) and this work also required me to show my ability to satisfy my clients, since the client kept asking for changes very frequently. (He'd just ask for changing a feature and wanted me to revert back to the previous one once I've made the change. This happened after a couple of months of the final submission of the project).

In this project, I've created a review site where the site owner and editors can give reviews of different types of products and services. To accomplish the required functions and behavior, I've had to build a good synergy between multisite and individual sites in WordPress.

The primary design of the site also required me to work extensively with CSS pseudo-classes and advance CSS3 features.

[P:S: The site is currently put in maintenance mode by the client.]

  • Zonnescherm Doek Shop Website (Development)

This is one of my best works until now.

This site uses WooCommerce to handle the back-end, but the front-end requires the extensive and explicit use of raw PHP and JavaScript. So, I had to combine them all together, and put them in a nice synergy where they don't clash against each other and work perfectly, just as the client would like it to work.

Additionally, the site required me to integrate a local payment method, which I was not familiar with, and which didn't have much documentation. Moreover, the support technician didn't speak English. I certainly don't know Dutch and hence I had to use a translator and communicate with the support staff and integrate the payment gateway.

  • The Magnus Collective Website (Development)

This site uses WordPress everywhere, but the client wanted a custom membership section. Even though another developer actually developed the entire site, I was given the responsibility of creating the membership section with raw PHP.

I had to make sure that the membership section was as secure as possible, and with different types of memberships and admin accesses, the access options were required to be completely custom coded.

Moreover, I had to complete all these within three days!
