Oracle's Customer Support Portal is accessed by millions of users across the globe. There are over 40 applications deployed in the back end to support the end-to-end functionality of the portal. I initially managed, supported, and automated day-to-day operations and deployments, then led a small team to manage the operations of four applications with 24x7 support.

Trilogy: ITOps Cost Optimization

The IT operations cost optimization project focused on reviewing the monthly amount spent with third-party vendors such as AWS, Google, Zoom, MacStadium, Salesforce, and GitHub. I analyzed it to identify opportunities to reduce the cost spent on unused and stale resources. The important technical decisions around the project were to identify and decommission the resources provisioned with these third-parties no longer in use. Automation was set up to identify resources not claimed by anyone in the organization and then disable (15 days) and decommission them.

Trilogy: ITOps ServiceDesk Portal

Over 2,000 employees use the ITOps ServiceDesk portal across the globe to report and request for IT-related services. As part of Eng.SaaS.Automation, I was responsible for designing, automating, and implementing the end-to-end automation for these requests, which were previously handled manually by L1 and L2 engineers. Overall automation framework was deployed using AWS services such as API Gateway, SQS, Lambda Functions (Python), DynamoDB, and SNS. The entire code-base was managed in the GitHub repositories. GitHub actions were used to test the code change with every commit and deploy the code in the production environment when the feature branches were merged into the master.

EngineYard is a PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) provider that automates, configures, and deploys applications in the cloud. The platform uses Java, Ruby on Rails, PHP, and Node.js for large-scale and small-scale cloud deployments. Its capabilities include load balancing, backups, cloning, and database replication. I was the SRE and DevOps engineer who ensured the availability and uptime of the platform 24x7 and assisted customers with issues with either the platform or the applications deployed over it. Over thousands of customers' applications are deployed over the EngineYard platform and provisioned over AWS infrastructure services and platforms such as EKS.
