Finance Feed Process

While I mainly supported the HR and payroll module, I was tasked with finance projects from time to time. This project allowed our finance department to pay vendors through the automated clearing house (ACH) network or commercial cards. This reduced the number of checks that the institution had to cut and drastically decreased the time spent tracking vendors and their payments. I was the only technical support on this project, so I was required to assist with reviewing the initial contracts to ensure that they met the necessary IT requirements. I gathered requirements, helped with the implementation timeline, mapped data from our system to the third-party vendor system, created the in-house onboarding objects for vendors, and implemented the necessary programs to pass data to the third-party vendor.

Benefits and HR Integration

I collaborated closely with a project manager and functional offices to integrate our system into a new state benefits system. This project lasted for almost two years and involved requirement gathering, creating project timelines and goals, developing scope plans, moving data between external systems, and meeting final go-live deadlines. A significant element of this project was to import benefits data on an ongoing basis from the state system into our ERP system. This transition needed to be seamless while requiring minimal user interaction. To accomplish this, I also needed to communicate staffing changes to the state system in a timely manner. My project was on time and met all readiness criteria. After go-live, I quickly and adeptly responded to all glitches and made the system right while ensuring minimal interruptions to my end users.

Insurance Company App Support

One of my first major projects involved providing support to a multi-million dollar company that was transitioning to using our home-grown software. This company had millions of rows of historical data that needed to be translated to meet the new database structure. My job was to travel to the client site, provide face-to-face support, analyze their needs, and help them get the data to a transferrable format. This was the final stage of this project. Before this step, I was heavily involved in customizing the software for this specific client. As such, I was selected as the best person to help them with the transition.

Liability and Demographics Audit Support

I inherited various reports that were used to generate data for the internal auditors and HR use on a yearly basis. I was tasked with cleaning up these reports since they frequently required many re-runs to get accurate data. Additionally, we needed to automate these so that the functional office could generate its own reports as needed. One, in particular, required many changes yearly to meet new state laws and guidelines. Another was used to calculate employee payoffs upon termination, and this had to meet various state and employer policies. The third process needed was used to track diversity quotas and overall demographical changes in the workforce. My role was to design reusable processes while allowing the end user to update variables. These processes have proven to be very successful and have proven over time to be accurate and repeatable.
