Experience

  • Premium WordPress Themes and Plugins for ThemeForest
    https://themeforest.net/

Developed over 20 unique premium WordPress responsive themes and plugins for a digital marketplace called themeforest.net

The WP themes and plugins were built with a custom admin panel and theme options with full customization.

  • Video Management System
    https://stacktv.ca/

At Corus Entertainment Inc. company we created a video management system. Because I was the senior WordPress developer and my experience with Python, I was transferred to the Python developers team.

I collaborated to create an API that uses ElasticSearch, I helped the WordPress teams to implement that API into the company's WordPress websites, and I contributed to developing the admin dashboard in Python.

We developed the back end and the user dashboard in AngularJS.

Finally, we created a video management system, data storage, and an API to use. It was integrated into all the company's websites. It was a great and complicated project that later evolved into a SAAS.

WordPress websites used the system, and it exponentially increased the pages' loading time. It added content and video management by the company's users.

  • FLK Taoist Website
    https://www.taoist.org/

The FLK Taoist website development project was a massive one. I was involved and did about 75% of that project.

My involvement was from the first phase, where I started with a wireframe and some time estimation.

Initially, there were over 20 websites from more than 20 countries, each with their website and info. The scope was to create a new website with all events, information, and translations into its language.

We decided to use a content management system, and we decided to use WordPress multi-site. All the content is managed through a WordPress CMS to allow clients easy access to updating and adding new content and pages.

The design is responsive. We used Twitter Bootstrap and custom media queries, and CSS implementation for each responsive state.

For search, pagination, and filters, I used Ajax and REST API to avoid page refresh every single time.

Another project phase included the donation form connecting to the client-server API and payment gateway. As an additional part related to the donation form, I built a PDF generator that creates a PDF file as an invoice with all of the company's users and payments details and sends it to the user via email.

  • GoneVOIP
    https://www.gonevoip.ca/

GoneVOIP had an outdated and not-responsive website. I migrated the database and applied the old website's functionality to the new design in a reasonable time. I did 100% of the work for this project.

I created a custom admin and user dashboard where admin and partners users can add, update, and delete providers, blog articles, quotes, questions.

Another part of the back end was the reports generation. Reports included eight different graphs that displayed the providers and their reviews and replies by categories monthly and yearly. The reports can be exported into CSV format.

Other options added on the front end are reviews rating, feeling, top positive, top critical, and report abuse review. These features were mostly made using jQuery.

Another great feature applied to this website is a JavaScript embeddable widget that I created. It has parameters, and every provider or allowed website can include it on its own website as an embedded JavaScript script to display the content and reviews with replies from the main GoneVoIP website.

  • RIT Vacations
    https://ritvacations.com/

This is a WordPress multi-site for a travel agency with tours in three different countries. I used the company's API to get all the categories and tours displayed on the website.

During that time, the company's API began too slow; the pages took 10-12 seconds to load, and this was inadmissible for users. I got this task to resolve, and I decided to download all the API's data to the website server in JSON formats.

I added a WordPress cron, and the API has been accessed in the background regularly, a couple of times per day. I also added a custom WordPress option with a button to download the new data whenever new updates about important tours have to be displayed on the website immediately.

Finally, the website's pages are currently loading in 2-3 seconds. It was a great accomplishment.
