Educational YouTube Videos for Power BI

https://www.youtube.com/@SolutionsAbroad/featured
Solutions Abroad is an educational YouTube channel dedicated to empowering data professionals and business users to master Power BI. The channel features hands-on tutorials, real-world case studies, and best-practice frameworks for building scalable, secure, and visually engaging analytics solutions. Each video covers a practical scenario, from advanced DAX techniques and Power Query transformations to semantic modeling, report optimization, and dashboard design, with a focus on clarity, storytelling, and actionable insights. I oversee all aspects of content creation, including topic research, script writing, recording, and editing, while ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with Microsoft's data standards.

This ongoing project demonstrates my ability to translate complex BI concepts into accessible learning materials that help organizations upskill teams, improve data literacy, and make informed, data-driven decisions.

Amazon Sales Analysis – Power BI Challenge

The objective of this Power BI dashboard is to understand whether customers are generally satisfied or dissatisfied with Apple's iPhone. I was provided with a dataset of about 5,000 customer reviews, star ratings, helpful votes, and free-text comments. The challenge I set for myself was: How can I squeeze as much insight from this dataset as possible?

Using the built-in AI insights in Power BI Premium, the report generates a sentiment score for reviews based on specific keywords or phrases. We also use key phrases to understand what low-rated reviews are saying, looking for opportunities to improve the next model.

The Amazon Shopping website heavily inspires the design, and I had a lot of fun incorporating it into Power BI. I ensured that the design and elements are intentional and with purpose, so the custom design will feel like browsing the Amazon site, while the buttons are contextual to the report. While the pages by themselves tell a story, I've also ensured that interactivity between them (cross-filtering, tooltips, sorting, filtering) still works to allow for deeper analysis.

Family Leave Analysis – Power BI Dashboard

The objective of this dashboard was to create an impactful visual to support content and articles for an online business journal. With this in mind, the design philosophy in this report was to develop an infographic-style report focusing on headlines and summaries that the journal can use. At the same time, I also wanted to showcase Power BI's dynamic capabilities. Keeping all of this on one page was the extra challenge I set to myself on this one.

Elements such as titles, subtitles, and even summaries are dynamic based on context and user selection. This allows the journals to examine various types of parental leave. To overcome the limitations of using only one page, tooltips are used to add further details to the summaries, which the online journal can use to answer various questions, including: How many companies are there in the finance sector? How does it compare against the global average? Industries and companies are given a weighted score based on their overall parental leave (paid/unpaid, maternity/paternity). This enables us to identify the company with the most comprehensive parental leave policy.

Fitness Tracker Sales Trends – Power BI Dashboard

The report's objective was to determine whether there is a significant demand for fitness trackers in the Indian market, and also if there is a correlation between the prices and product specifications and ratings. It also aimed to include information on the top five brands for fitness bands and smart watches.

For this, I opted for a more minimalist, black-and-white design, which focused on answering the questions. The extra challenge to myself was to answer the questions while telling a story with as few visuals as possible.
