Crawley
https://github.com/jmg/crawleyCrawley is an open-source crawling and scraping framework for Python, and the project I am best known for, with around 190 stars on GitHub. It lets you crawl sites and pull structured data out of them through a small declarative API: fetch a page, query it with CSS or XPath selectors, and persist what you found through SQLAlchemy. I first wrote it on non-blocking I/O back when that meant eventlet and greenlets, and I have since rewritten it on asyncio and httpx with SQLAlchemy 2.x, a documentation site, and continuous integration.
PyFb — Facebook Graph API Client for Python
https://github.com/jmg/pyfbPyFb is an open-source Python client for the Facebook Graph API, with around 70 stars on GitHub. Instead of handing back raw JSON dictionaries, it returns Python objects, so reading a profile, a friend list, or a feed takes a couple of lines. It also covers the OAuth flow — the redirect, the code exchange, and the access token — and ships a worked example of adding Facebook login to a Django project with a few settings and two views.
Data Layer Generator
https://github.com/jmg/data-layer-generatorA code generator that writes the SQL data access layer for a database, so you do not have to, without adding an ORM as a dependency. It reads your tables and produces plain Python classes with the CRUD operations for each one, going through the DB-API directly. It exists for projects where SQLAlchemy or the Django ORM would be a heavy dependency for a handful of queries. An early version built its SQL by string formatting; when users pointed out that this allowed injection, I moved it to bound parameters and let the driver escape the values. Around 50 stars on GitHub.
Node Simple Chat
https://github.com/jmg/node-simple-chatA real-time chat room built on Node.js and Socket.IO, written as a readable example of pushing messages between browsers over WebSockets instead of polling for them. The server tracks connected clients, broadcasts each message as it arrives, and handles joins and disconnects; the page updates without a reload. It is deliberately small — one server file and one page — so it can be read end to end and used as the starting point for real-time features in a bigger app.
Backbone Django-Tastypie Example App

It shows the parts that are usually left as an exercise: exposing the models as REST resources, wiring Backbone models and collections to those endpoints, and getting create, update, and delete to round-trip cleanly between the browser and the server. I wrote it when single-page front ends on top of Django were new, and that integration was the hard part of every project.
Django Convention Over Configuration

It uses introspection to infer views from the file and class names in the project, so adding a view is enough to make it routable, and it renders templates by the same convention — there is no URL table to keep in sync by hand. It supports class-based views on Python 2.7 and 3.2+, installs as a normal package, and ships a test suite. I built it after maintaining URL files that were almost entirely repetitive.
DeployCloud — Deployment Platform
DeployCloud is a deployment platform I designed and ran on my own servers: you give it a git URL or a directory, and it gives back a running HTTPS app. It builds the image, issues the certificate, starts the release behind a reverse proxy, and keeps a preview environment per branch. It also covers what usually gets bolted on later — scheduled jobs, managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis add-ons, off-site backups, metrics and alerts, one-off commands, rollbacks, and an automated reviewer that reads what strangers deploy on the free tier and blocks proxy nodes and miners. It ships a CLI published on npm and an MCP server, so an AI agent can deploy and operate apps on it without a browser.
Shopify Apps Portfolio

Each one is a full product — OAuth install, billing, webhooks, background workers, and a theme or admin extension — and they run on infrastructure I keep myself, so I am also the person who gets the alert when a queue backs up or a disk fills. Working on them is what taught me Shopify's APIs, its rate limits, and what merchants actually complain about.

A website adds a chat widget, and the whole support team answers every conversation from one shared inbox, with canned replies, AI-assisted answers, and a built-in help center for common questions. It is sold as a standalone SaaS with a free trial, and it is also available as a Shopify app. I own the full stack: the embeddable widget, the real-time messaging between visitors and agents, the team inbox and help center, the AI reply features, billing, and running it in production.
DeskPine — Shared Inbox and Knowledge Base for Email Support

It brings the support mailbox and the documentation together in one place: a shared inbox where the team triages and replies to email conversations, a knowledge base for publishing help articles, and reporting for support teams. I built the product end to end, from receiving inbound email and threading conversations to the shared inbox, the knowledge base, the reporting, and billing, and I operated it in production.
Embedded Chat — Social Group Chat for Any Website

Visitors chat live on the page with reactions, replies, @mentions, and polls; AI moderation keeps the conversation clean; and viewers can send tips to the site owner through Stripe. It works on Shopify, Wix, WordPress, and other platforms, and it also ships as a dedicated Shopify app. I built and operated the whole product: the embeddable widget, the real-time messaging layer, the AI moderation, the Stripe tipping flow, and the admin side for site owners.
Decknote — Kanban Boards with Notion-style Cards
https://decknote.app/Decknote combines the simplicity of kanban boards with Notion-style cards that hold rich content, so a team can plan its work and keep its notes in the same place. Boards update in real time for everyone collaborating on them, and the app works on desktop and mobile, with a free plan. I also ship it as a Shopify app that turns a store's orders, returns, and products into kanban boards, so merchants can run fulfillment and operations visually. I designed and built both products and ran them in production.
Jentry — Error Tracking and Performance Monitoring

Applications send their errors to Jentry, which captures them with full stack traces and also tracks performance, releases, cron job check-ins, and session replays, so a team can get from a production exception to its cause quickly. It is fully hosted and managed, a new project can send its first event within minutes, and there is a free plan. I designed, built, and operated it end to end: event ingestion, storage, the web interface, and the infrastructure behind it.

I designed it, built it, and ran it in production.
Sitematic — No-code Website Builder with Store, Blog, and SEO

Beyond pages, it includes an online store with Stripe payments, a blog, and technical SEO, at about half the price of Wix, with a free plan to start. I designed and built the product end to end, including the visual editor, publishing to custom domains, the Stripe-powered store, the blog, and the SEO features, and I run it in production.
Crawley Cloud — No-code Web Scraping and Data Extraction API

Instead of writing selectors, users build a scraper by clicking the data they want on a page; the platform renders JavaScript, rotates proxies, runs crawls on a schedule, and returns clean JSON, CSV, or Markdown through an API, with a free tier to start. It builds on my years of maintaining Crawley, my open-source Python crawling framework. I designed, built, and operated the whole service, from the point-and-click scraper builder to the crawling infrastructure and the extraction API.
BookClock — Appointment Booking for Service Businesses
https://bookclock.app/BookClock is an appointment booking app for service businesses. The business publishes its hours once, and clients book themselves at any hour of the day. It handles deposits confirmed by bank transfer receipt, sends reminders the day before, maintains a waitlist that offers a freed slot as soon as someone cancels, records walk-ins, and provides a booking widget for the business's own website, plus a calendar feed. I designed, built, and operated it, and it is offered with a 30-day free trial.

Teams talk in channels, threads, and direct messages, with mentions, search, and file sharing in one fast workspace that is free to start. I designed, built, and operated it, including the real-time messaging layer that keeps every client in sync, message search, file sharing, and the web app itself.

It creates or links the customer account automatically, captures the email from the social profile, and adds customizable login buttons to any theme, including Online Store 2.0, loading asynchronously so it does not slow the store down. It runs on stores ranging from small shops to Shopify Plus brands such as ANINE BING. I built and support it end to end: the OAuth flow with each provider, the Shopify customer integration, and the storefront widget.
Easy Reports & Data Export — Custom Reports for Shopify

Merchants pick the fields they need, including metafields and line item properties, filter by date, product, customer, and more, and export to CSV, Excel, or PDF. Reports can be scheduled to run daily, weekly, or monthly and are delivered by email, and some merchants run dozens of scheduled reports every day. I built the app end to end, from the report builder to the background workers that pull data through Shopify's APIs and generate the files, and I support merchants directly, often adding new data fields on request.
Easy Tagging — Automatic, Bulk, and AI Tagging for Shopify

Merchants define rules with AND/OR conditions such as order value, shipping country, SKU, or discount code, and the app applies tags in real time as new orders arrive, removes them when the conditions stop matching, and can tag the existing catalog and order history in bulk, with AI-assisted tagging as well. Merchants use those tags to drive fulfillment, reporting, and other automations. I built and maintained the rules engine, the webhook-driven real-time processing, and the bulk jobs that work within Shopify's API rate limits.
