Mohamed Ali Hachicha

Bio

Mohamed is a full-stack developer who ships to production and keeps it running. For two years he has built and run Flying For You, a street marketing platform spanning an admin back office, a client portal, and a React Native field app. He owns its CI/CD and deploys. He wrote google-maps-vector-engine, an npm package that renders Mapbox Vector Tiles on Google Maps, and published TallyGrid on Google Play, a puzzle game whose generator proves every board has exactly one solution.

Work Experience

Independent Software Consultant

2026 - PRESENT
TEKAB DEV
  • Led the rewrite of Flying For You's admin platform, inherited as legacy JavaScript on framework versions and patterns that had stopped being maintainable, into a typed single-page app its operations team now works in daily.
  • Cut demographic and geospatial statistics from 14 seconds to 2 seconds on average by reworking both the data preparation step and the query path behind it.
  • Replaced a PNG raster heatmap that was slow to load and impossible to click with interactive vector tiles, writing both the rendering engine and the tile pipeline that feeds it.
  • Wrote and published google-maps-vector-engine on npm, an open-source engine that renders Mapbox Vector Tiles on Google Maps, which has no native support for them.
  • Kept a stream of hundreds of thousands of GPS pings a day from degrading the interface, by isolating map state from the rest of the application state.
  • Set the engineering conventions for the codebase, wrote the rulebook the other engineers work from, and reviewed their pull requests against it.
  • Shaped features with Flying For You from problem statement through to delivery plan, including the interface decisions, rather than implementing tickets already specified.
  • Kept Flying For You running through production incidents, diagnosing and shipping fixes under live traffic, then adding monitoring so the same class of failure surfaced earlier.
Technologies: React Native, Expo, React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, Docker, QGIS, Amazon S3 (AWS S3), Amazon CloudFront CDN, OVH, Cloudflare, JavaScript, Ruby, Node.js, Redis, SonarQube, GeoPandas, HTML, CSS, Responsive Web Design (RWD), Web UX Design, User Interface (UI)

Software Engineer

2022 - 2025
TEKAB DEV
  • Built and owned Flying For You's customer-facing reporting portal end to end, from the React and TypeScript interface through to the APIs behind it.
  • Built the simulation engine computing housing and population statistics from the overlap between user-drawn zones and INSEE IRIS geographic areas, serving both the admin and customer-facing platforms.
  • Built real-time field tracking ingesting hundreds of thousands of GPS pings a day and pushing live positions into the admin and customer-facing apps.
  • Built geofence and mission monitoring that detects when a field marketer leaves an assigned zone or misses a confirmation, and escalates to both the marketer and the admin.
  • Shipped features into Flying For You's React Native field app, including background geolocation that keeps tracking while the app is closed.
  • Built Flying For You's public site at flyingforyou.fr and took it to a 95+ performance score.
  • Built Backlog Genius, which turns a project brief into a structured agile backlog synced to ClickUp, cutting planning time by 50%.
  • Built the Merge Genius review engine, reaching 95% detection accuracy across hundreds of GitLab pull requests per week.
Technologies: Vue 3, NestJS, OpenAI API, Express.js, Docker, Pinia, Prisma, Supabase, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Node.js, Redis, Vercel, HTML, CSS, Cloudflare, Flask, Responsive Web Design (RWD), User Interface (UI), Web UX Design, Web UI Design

Full-stack Developer

2022 - 2022
MAS Entreprise
  • Built extraction pipelines ingesting FX rates and banking indicators (Euribor, Libor, TMM) from 15+ Tunisian and Moroccan bank sources daily at 99.9% accuracy.
  • Built real-time anomaly detection for intercompany invoices and payments, feeding the audit and compliance reporting built on top of it.
  • Shipped ERP-integrated mobile apps for manufacturing requests, work orders, and delivery tracking, extending the ERP with QR traceability and a Flask microservice behind it.
  • Redesigned mobile navigation across iOS and Android, raising manufacturing efficiency 25% across 50+ daily orders.
Technologies: Python, Selenium, Pandas, .NET, Flutter, Flask, SQL, C#, Dart, MySQL, MongoDB, SonarQube, HTML, CSS

Flutter Developer

2021 - 2022
Freelance
  • Integrated Firebase authentication, real-time data, and push notifications into an eCommerce mobile application, improving synchronization between customers, products, and orders.
  • Redesigned the Flutter application's navigation and purchasing flow, reducing the number of steps required to complete a purchase by approximately 30%.
  • Implemented QR-code scanning for product tracking and order verification, streamlining product identification and fulfillment workflows.
Technologies: Flutter, Firebase, Dart, MongoDB, HTML, CSS

Experience

FlyingForYou

https://flyingforyou.fr/
Three connected apps: an admin back office for Flying For You's staff, a reporting portal for its customers, and a React Native field app. In production over two years, still shipping.

Mission management, live GPS tracking, interactive maps, KPI dashboards. A Python simulation API sits underneath, running on French geographic and INSEE demographic data.

Google Maps could not render the vector tiles this needed, so I wrote google-maps-vector-engine and rebuilt the pipeline around it. Processing time dropped 60%.

I own CI/CD and the deploys.

google-maps-vector-engine, open source npm package

Google Maps has no native support for Mapbox Vector Tiles. This renders them: PBF tiles on a google.maps.Map, with fast feature lookups, click selection, and styling you can change at runtime.

MIT on npm, running in production on Flying For You.

npm: google-maps-vector-engine

TallyGrid: Logic Number Puzzle

TallyGrid, logic puzzle game on Google Play that is really a constraint solver with a board attached.

Every generated board is proved to have exactly one solution, using an exact solution counter with constraint propagation and backtracking. A second solver works only from human deduction rules, which is how the game guarantees you never have to guess.

Difficulty scores and hints both fall out of that solver, so a hint shows you the next deduction instead of the answer.

Leaderboard is offline-first: scores queue locally and sync on the next launch.

Backlog Genius, AI backlog generator

Takes a project brief and returns a structured agile backlog: user stories, tasks, features. Editable before it goes anywhere, then one click into ClickUp.

Built the generator and the prompt logic behind it. Planning time down 50%.

Merge Genius, automated pull request review

Reviews GitLab merge requests over webhooks. Flags bugs, rates quality, posts the feedback back on the MR.

95% detection accuracy at hundreds of PRs a week. Prompts and token budgets tuned so big diffs get reviewed without falling out of context.
