• Architected an event-driven KYC/AML platform serving investment banking analysts by automating customer onboarding and regulatory screening.
• Developed distributed microservices using Python, FastAPI, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Integrated multiple external banking and regulatory APIs for PEP screening, sanctions screening, corporate registry lookup, shareholder analysis, and adverse media search.
• Built real-time workflow tracking using Redis caching and Kafka events, enabling analysts to monitor screening progress without blocking on slow external providers.
• Implemented retry policies, exponential backoff, dead-letter queues, correlation IDs, and centralized logging for production observability.
• Reduced manual compliance processing by over 60%, improving screening turnaround from 1 week to approximately 2 days.

I worked on automating complex healthcare workflows that previously required significant manual processing. I built Python and FastAPI services that used AI/RAG for document processing, classification and validation, with Temporal orchestrating long-running workflows across multiple downstream systems. The workflows included retries, failure handling, human-in-the-loop review and data transformations before routing information to the appropriate clinical and business teams. My work focused on making these processes faster, more reliable and easier to scale while maintaining the controls required in a regulated healthcare environment.
