Experience

IT Asset Management Program

During an IT asset management engagement at a large US financial asset administrator, I conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the firm's ITAM and software license management capabilities. I interviewed 40 IT teams across all business units, reviewed documentation, and benchmarked against industry standards. I identified a $100 million software spend savings opportunity and proposed a two-year remediation program to the CIO council, securing full approval to proceed.

The program was subsequently approved and executed under a new engagement, during which processes for contract and software purchase requests, which accounted for 40% of total spend, were redesigned and implemented to increase control and visibility across the organization. This included designing the processes to align with ServiceNow which was being implemented in parallel to the ITAM project.

The end-to-end nature of this project, from diagnosis through board-level pitch to hands-on execution, reflects the approach brought to every engagement: honest assessment, clear recommendations, and accountability for outcomes.

ServiceNow SAM Functional Architect — for Large US Financial Institution

As part of a two-year ITAM remediation program at a large US financial institution, I led functional design for a parallel ServiceNow implementation (Helsinki release), focused on the SAM module. The core problem: software was being bought, deployed, and consumed before entitlement records updated in ServiceNow — the system of record was always chasing reality.

I redesigned purchase request and contract intake workflows to feed directly into ServiceNow's asset catalog and procurement modules, ensuring entitlements were created at point-of-purchase.

I defined the entitlement data model across enterprise agreements, volume licenses, and publisher metric types (user-, device-, and processor-based), and established linkages between contracts, entitlements, and the CMDB to enable license reconciliation.

I worked with the implementation team on normalization rules to align discovery data against the software model catalog, and defined reclamation workflow logic so unused allocations were returned to the entitlement pool.

The result was reconciliation data that underpinned a $100M savings program through license reclamation, contract renegotiation, software rationalization, and spend reduction.
